Iran

At this point, what it matter?

;) ;)

But, that is now confirmation for Walter's edification,
that Iran is, indeed, exporting terrorism...

And President Obama helped pay for it.

Don't we kind of owe them a pass on them shooting down an unmanned aircraft since we did shoot down a passenger liner with civilians?

Iran Air Flight 655 was a scheduled passenger flight from Tehran to Dubai, via Bandar Abbas, that was shot down on 3 July 1988 by an SM-2MR surface-to-air missile fired from USS Vincennes, a guided missile cruiser of the United States Navy. The aircraft, an Airbus A300, was destroyed, and all 290 people on board, including 66 children, were killed.[1] The jet was hit while flying over Iran's territorial waters in the Persian Gulf, along the flight's usual route, shortly after departing Bandar Abbas International Airport, the flight's stopover location. Vincennes had entered Iranian territory after one of its helicopters drew warning fire from Iranian speedboats operating within Iranian territorial limits.

You bring up a very good point. We made every mistake in the book that day and it was a tragic event. The Vincennes was being probed by Iranian gunboats during that period of time and disobeyed orders to disengage and a tragic mistake happened. ROEs were changed after that incident. Maybe Trump was briefed on that incident and decided to stand down rather than engage in military conflict. Just a thought.

What America needs is another war in the Middle East. :/

My prediction? For the most part, Trump will do nothing about Iran, though he might use the issue to con enough votes to win in 2020.

Is Iran responsible for some acts of terrorism? Sure.

Is Iran developing WMD’s? No, they are not.

It is being reported the President has called off initial plans for airstrikes against Iran because they weren't proportionate and would have killed 150 people. I guess this shoots down the left's argument about Trump being a warmonger.

General Jack Keane told Varney this morning the Iranian leadership was irate with the tactical commander who launched the attack on the drone. Remember Trump's initial reaction was that it was an overzealous commander doing something stupid. This doesn't mean he isn't going to retaliate in some way.

History of Iranian attacks on Americans.
or support of proxies, and apparently none on American soil.

I didn't argue that. Indeed, Trump might be the most pacifist GOP president since Hoover.

I figure his reason for not attacking Iran is it'd escalate things to something even Trump wouldn't want.

Trump this week formally kicked off his reelection campaign amid sagging poll numbers, an ironic coincidence given that his past tweets predicted in 2011 that President Barack Obama would bomb Iran to raise his own ratings and win reelection.

When the 2012 election came and went and Obama didn’t attack Iran, Trump continued to make the same prediction, shifting the reasons to “save face” or “show how tough he is.”

There’s a tweet for every reason, every season.

Trump has already shown his courage by attacking Syria twice.

Trump numbers are growing and him raising almost 25 million in less than 24 hours says a lot.

See the USA Today Suffolk Poll:

But the USA Today/Suffolk University survey showed 49 percent of Americans approving of the job Trump’s doing as president, with 48 percent giving him a thumbs down.

That’s a more positive showing for Trump compared with other recent polling of his presidential approval rating.

And in the new survey, 49 percent of voters predicted Trump would win re-election, with 38 percent pointing to a victory by the eventual Democratic presidential nominee. Further, the poll indicated that if the November 2020 general election were held today, the president would narrowly edge an unnamed Democratic nominee -- 40-37 percent, with 9 percent supporting an unnamed third-party candidate and 14 percent undecided.

He’s in deep shit in swing states, no matter how you spin it. Courage? He lobbed a few bombs on a runway, which was rebuilt and back in use in days. And besides, what’s courageous about telling someone else to drop a bomb ten thousand miles from where you are? You set a mighty low bar for courage.

45's own polls show him losing hugely, vettebitch.

They said that because they know there's naive fools like you who will believe it and repeat it as gospel.

It bolsters the argument that Trump is a loose cannon. Warmonger, peacenik, what will he be an hour from now?

No, it is typical Trump. Running his mouth before looking at a situation. That is what Trump does. Over and over again

I truly hope that in an hour from now he'll revert back to being a loose cannon, warmonger bomber and drop a fucking bunker buster right on your fucking house with you in it.

You're the one not looking at the situation. If this would have been Obama we would've lost a carrier already.

Can you dispute what was said. Do you know why he made the decision he made? Maybe the IRPG was moving innocent women and children to the target sites willing to sacrifice their own citizens to create a international incident. Loud mouths like you don't use reason, you just spout off more Trump hatred. When you have nothing just blame Trump, if you only knew how stupid you look.

Absolutely right. Taking advantage of one circumstance to serve another need. Neither Trump nor anyone else in his "administration" has an ounce of credibility. His earlier statements offered the incident up as a rogue individual action unintended by the Iranian government. He was fishing for a simple apology agreeing to that basis, knowing he doesn't want a war and figuring the Iranian government doesn't want one either. The "I thought about 150 dead people" rings hollow coming from Trump or anyone else around him.

That said, it is one of the better moves his incompetent people can be making at this point, so that's good for now--as long as people don't swallow his crap on why he called the strike off.

How deplorable. You should seek help.
