Iran

This is the standard response. Our enemies know this is the standard response, so they vacate their positions and remove assets until after the missile strike is concluded.

They lose almost nothing. We spend millions countering a $2 bluff and fold.

Kind of hard to move an oil rig, or naval and air bases. This response, I'm sure, will be the destruction of infrastructure and perhaps missile capability. My humble opinion.

How about you stop supporting islamic terrorists

Time to take out the Iran leadership just as we would with Al Quada and Isis

Great more regime change war hawking.

False flags so we can take out the "bad guys". Worked so well every time is has been tried so far - right?

Fuck the Gulf of Tonkin, ancient history/

So Iran shooting down a US military Drone worth millions over international waters isn't a provocation worthy of a military response? You think the "military-industrial complex" in the US is responsible?

Correct.

Yes.

The actual "Administrative State" is taking iran and sticking it right up your Manifort - until you want to spend a trillion more tax dollars we don't have and so will borrow to go fight for no-fucking-reason.

I'll pass.

The Democrat response is always, surrender and walk away. Let's see what the Chinese, Norks, and Russians do in other places if we do.

Trump just said he thinks the drone might have been shot down accidentally. Smart move that gives him operating room and calms the markets. He has invited Democrat congressional leaders to the White House for a meeting in the situation room.

I think he wants Iran to pay for the drone.

Surrender from what? False WMDs and $4 trillion wasted in the desert?

The only two policy positions that made Tiny even the least bit tolerable was he was supposedly against deficit spending and debt, and he was against foreign intervention to the point of being an isolationist.

Well his Trillion dollar deficit was one strike and here comes strike number 2.

You Trumpturds really do flap in the breeze.

I seem to remember that the Chuckster ( D's ) wanted an additional 128 billion in domestic programs in the 2018 budget if Trump was to get what he needed for defense. So, for you to cry foul on spending deficit is laughable. Typical democratic spin. You do understand that national defense is the number one constitutional responsibility of the presidency.

We could walk away from Iran now and deal with Iran when it has nuclear capability, pay now or pay later. Sounds like you don't mind having (2) N. Koreas to deal with in the future. Dealing with Iran has to be a coalition of countries no doubt. Iran has killed hundreds of americans soldiers and trust me they want a crack at them. Not a reason for combat ops, before you spout off.

Nobody is flapping in the breeze. We didn't waste 4 trillion, we now have strategic bases in that part of the world which, believe it or not, is containing Iran and helps keep the peace. Those countries help pay for those bases giving us more bang for the buck, much like Japan and Europe.

Iran doesn’t want nuclear weapons. If they did, they would’ve had them decades ago.

Fuck Iran and go in dry. We've played nice even when we shouldn't have. If they still got a problem with the ancient history shit from the 50's then it's time to get the hell over it.

Iran needs a war to help quell the unrest of the populace. They will prod and poke in order to try to get Trump to make a political mistake at the start of an election cycle.

What they don't realize is that many American's don't care if Trump makes a political mistake in this regard. If the US goes up against Iran, Iran is doomed. Even if Trump loses the election, Iran loses everything.

They don't want a war.
What they want to do is send a threat to their allies.
Help us out of these sanctions or we will stop the flow of oil in this region.

These are acts of desperate men.

How about the US stops flying drones around the borderline of the airspace and provoking Iran?

The sheeple are falling for it again.

That's a misdirection.
They are either in their space or in international space.
There is no such freaking thing as a borderline, especially at that altitude.

Well, he and his friends will say,
We're not supporting the terrorism of the Ayatollahs,
We're opposing the terrorism of "Tromp..."

For two weeks in March, the war on terror was over. Two weeks after ISIS was defeated in Syria, Trump declared that the IRGC were terrorists, and the war on terror continues.

That's a lie.

They had been declared that a very long time ago...

I stopped reading to do some lunch and turned on the idiot box to catch some news and got in on the last few minutes of his appearance with the Dancing King...

This is a great gambit. I believe that elements in Iran have already claimed credit.
What he has done is challenged the Ayatollah to come up with a scapegoat or
remain silent, or deny the charge.
If his allies lean on him, he will choose option one.
Options two and three prove to the world, and their allies, that
yes, indeed, they engaged in a hostile act of war which clears the way for
retaliation and makes it very hard for their allies to openly support them.

I am sure that this was not an original thought with President Trump
but someone like Bolton probably coached him on what needed to be said...

[This ought to make them crazy!]

That part of the world has problems with ancient history shit from the 1500s.

'I didn't say they wanted a war, I said they need a war.

If Iran doesn't somehow get a handle on their domestic unrest problem, the current regime is going to find themselves at the top of the gallows.

Their traditional blustering and sabre rattling isn't going to help them this time because no one in the region believes them. This is mostly because they've been acting through their proxy's instead of directly. Instead their people are starving while the leadership continues to fund proxy wars and make ridiculous claims that they don't want nuclear weapons while they stockpile enriched military grade nuclear fuel.

Iran has reached the end times. Either they join the rest of the peaceful world, or they're done.

*nods*
Bolton has found Trump to be an exceptionally malleable tool.

Bolton briefly fell out of favor with Trump by convincing him to back the wrong strongman in the failed Venezuela coup attempt.
