I'm in Pain

Baby oil?

A topical anaglesic, possibly with some antibiotic, should not be too risky. Others with direct experience may be able to offer more specific advice.

 Ow. I would go to the doc if you have a fever and it is inflamed. Sounds like you need antibiotics.
Take care. :rose:

Try ice and then use some aloe vera on it. I would not try any creams unless the pharmacist recomends it. Then go see a doctor as soon as possible.

Diaper rash ointment = Johnson's Diaper Rash w/Zinc Oxide

What's that? Is there a brand name for it?

It's not so much a rash though.

Zincofax is one brand. It's white and has zincoxide as the active ingredient. It's good for diaper rash and heat rashes. Might help.

Poor babydoll.I need more info than magic debacle if you want some help.I have been an RN for over 20yrs.PM me with more details I'll be glad to help,I'll check my box in the morning:heart: ...lillum

Sitz baths or warm baths might help. Being weedy I'd use a little calendula or sage in that water and some echinacea tincture every few hours. If the fever gets too high or goes too long you should get seen by someone. And don't to forget you've got to rest, stay off your feet, drink good fluids and all that kind of caring for yourself also.

Ok, about a week ago I posted about my Magic debacle.

Well the outer part of my skin was badly burned. It has healed, but in the process, it has left a rash/bump on my left skin right where my leg and twat are. This area is inflamed, it feels like the skin is so tight. It is hot, it feels feverish and it hurts like hell. It makes walking difficult and it's killing me.

I'm scared to put most lotions on it because of the chemicals.

What should I do?

Aloe vera?

I'm in pain. I think it's infected and is causing me to have a fever.

Is that a picture of the burn in your av?

Ouch...that looks horrific...I don't even want to know what part of your body that is....

Take nyquil....won't help for shit but it will put you to sleep and make the pain go away for a couple hours or so...

If it is hot and inflamed, it's probably infected. I would recommend a doctor, and if you're really against that, antibiotic cream.

It's not really a rash. I think I'm going to go with the Neosporin.

I think that's the best call for the weekend. It has 3 active anti-biotics, including zinc.

Magic is the worse product you could use. I know a lot of people on here think it's the best thing since sliced bread, but everyone I know that has tried it has been burnt by it, including myself.

I'd say take some painkillers (for the pain) and use something with a zinc contained in it as it keeps the skin dry and that's what you need right now.

Good Luck Lavender, I guess you'll be another non Magic user from now on.

Lovin' Spoonful---Do You Believe in Magic

Do you believe in magic in a young girl's heart
How the music can free her, whenever it starts
And it's magic, if the music is groovy
It makes you feel happy like an old-time movie
I'll tell you about the magic, and it'll free your soul
But it's like trying to tell a stranger 'bout rock and roll

If you believe in magic don't bother to choose
If it's jug band music or rhythm and blues
Just go and listen it'll start with a smile
It won't wipe off your face no matter how hard you try
Your feet start tapping and you can't seem to find
How you got there, so just blow your mind

If you believe in magic, come along with me
We'll dance until morning 'til there's just you and me
And maybe, if the music is right
I'll meet you tomorrow, sort of late at night
And we'll go dancing, baby, then you'll see
How the magic's in the music and the music's in me

Yeah, do you believe in magic
Yeah, believe in the magic of a young girl's soul
Believe in the magic of rock and roll
Believe in the magic that can set you free
Ohh, talking 'bout magic

Do you believe like I believe Do you believe in magic
Do you believe like I believe Do you believe, believer
Do you believe like I believe Do you believe in magic
{Fade}

lavender: these are exactly the signs of an infected wound. you should go to the doctor, but probably not the emergency room unless your fever is extremely high. if you absolutely refuse to do so you should soak in warm water every 4 hours for about 20 minutes. you could also use a warm, wet washcloth, but be sure to use a clean one each time. apply neosporin after bathing.

check to be sure you really have a fever. if you have a mild fever then there is no urgent need to bring it down. hydrate yourself and stay comfortable. if you have a high fever try to bring it down with a cool shower (cool, damp washcloths also work for this-- try across your forehead and at the back of your neck/base of your skull) and an over the counter medication such as advil or tylenol.

No Zinc Oxide! You can't wash that stuff off without taking the skin.

Clean the area with betadine. Let it set for about 10 minutes then wash it off. Of over the counter," I blew it, so I have no other choice" medications, I like polysporin. Many people are allergic to the neomycin in neosporin.

You want to avoid the skin on skin effect so you need to tuck some cotton fabric loosly where skin touches skin. Note: Fabric not cotton balls.

Get a first aide kit. Keep it stocked. If you are going to play, you need to take care of yourself if it is a little too rough which magic can be. Hydrocortisone, Betadine, Polysporin, ice packs or frozen pees. Some type of antifungal. Some Preparation H. (You can use it lots of places! It shrinks swollen membranes. :) )
