Since I'm currently a stay-at-home mom, I'd continue with my job. <chuckles> But I'd hire someone to take care of the house and use the time the kids were in school to take some classes, like French or Italian, or even both maybe.

I'd take my mom to Europe, someplace she's always wanted to go, and give her enough money to retire on, so she wouldn't have to worry about rainy days ever again. (She probably still would though!)

I'd move my grandma out of her ancient duplex and put her in a penthouse apartment, still downtown so she could remain near all her friends.

I'd probably try to get pregnant again.

I'd take the kids to foreign countries and to see the rest of the country as much as possible.

I'd really research some good charities and give some of my money away.

Last, or maybe first, I'd throw a big party for my Literotica friends and hire Dixon to do comedy and or his magic act for us, Nicole and Xander to do their respective wiggle and pelvic thingamajig, and Jade and whomever else to sing. (Sorry if I forgot anyone's talent. I have a pisspoor memory.)

How about you? Would you continue to work? If not at your current job, would you try something else, like open that restaurant you've always wanted to?

Since I currently work for myself I would continue in my present work just not take it as seriously.

My mother never wanted anything extragent except a place in the country that she could relax at and not worry and a decent lawnmower that wouldnt quit after 5 feet.

My grandparents are happy where they livein the house they built when they got married 50 years ago I would buy them all the conviences to make thier living there more comfortable though.

I would probably try to get someone pregnant

I would travel to all the history places of my religious background talks about.

I would probaly use some moeny to give scholarships to kids who came from backgrounds like mine that didnt have the money for college so that they could get ahead in life and not be burdened with student loans.

1) Pay off my debt.

2) Pay someone to input all of the stories and authors into the new Literotica script.

3) Get two new servers to dedicate to the new script.

4) Install a super fraud-proof voting script, then give away big cash prizes for best stories in different categories (we're actually working on this, but without that lottery money it's taking a little longer, lol).

5) Add all sorts of awesome features to make Literotica THE COOLEST site on the web.

6) Buy a house on the coast with lots of land so I can have a big garden and raise my torties in style.

7) Donate more money to Tortoise Trust and a couple of children's charities I'm into.

The very first thing I would do is pay off every single thing I owe, leaving me with no more money worries. Then I would go abroad, maybe a cruise for at least six months. When I returned I'd think about setting up some sort of business, cause you know what they say, money makes money.

I'd choose my charity carefully, probably opting for the local hospital, they always seem to be short of funds. I'd also take care of my family, making sure that each and everyone had no more money worries.

Then basically, sit back and enjoy the rest of my life, in a beautiful home, oh god I wish.

Carl.

Oh yeah if anybody does hit it big there is always the C&FoB that you can donate some money to.

BTW C&FoB = Care and Feeding of Bobtoad

Oh Oh Me Me !!!

Whisper I have thought about this so often lately, Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you for starting this thread.

Okay first up I would get into contact with my closest friends from here, I would arrange for us all to meet in the nicest part of America (wherever that may be), and we would not party but get to know each other. Sit have a drink and a BBQ, talk to each other about our dreams and loves in life. That would be awesome for me. Just to meet the people behind the names.

I would make sure that my Parents (god Bless them) had enough money to live out their lives on.

I would get a first Class tickets for my Nana to fly back to see her Family in Scotland.

I would make sure that my niece and brand new nephew were taken care of, and pay my sisters debts off, giving her enough money to have some fun with.

I would make sure that my son had what he needed (although love would come from me). A good education, toys that he would love but I find hard to buy right now. That sort of thing. Plus an investment for him for when he gets older.

I would move to The States and buy a VERY Big place to live in (I would need it believe me).

I would definantly try to have a child with the love of my life (sorry G) but I would.

I would buy Laurel and Manu everything they needed for the site and then send them off on a much needed Vacation.

Is this too much because I could go on you know. :)

Whispersecret I would gladly do my Wiggle for you, not that you really want to see it mind you, but I would.

Set up a scholarship fund, in memory of my son, to help kids who are interested in the media tech field. The best media tech school is really expensive, but the kids who graduate go into the top jobs in the movie/tv/recording business.

Set up a trust for each of my nieces & nephews so that they can go to the college of their choice.

Pay off my debts,

Buy my mom a house, buy me a house, buy each of my sisters a house.

Invest the rest so I could live comfortably & spend my time doing volunteer work as a victim's rights advocate.

Even if it never happens, it is nice to think about.

First I'd see if money can buy you love- after learning it can't I'd give a couple million to mom and then live the rest of my life as a hermit will all that money stuffed under my mattress.
They'd find my greasy, bloated body in bed after two or three decades. There I'd be, rotting alone on top of my millions.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ :cool: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Maybe this belongs in Jade's Death Thread.
Well, I'm currently a struggling writer, so I'd continue the writing, but not the struggling. ;)
I'd buy a nice house for myself, and furnish it luxuriously, from top to bottom. I'd create the ultimate home office, with the best computer and office equipment available. And I'd get the best sound system and home theater that money could buy, for my den. And I'd buy any damn book and CD I wanted.
I'd also buy nice houses for my mother and brother. In my brother's case, the house would have to be big enough to accommodate all five of his cats, plus the many more he would love to adopt.
I'd donate a lot of money to my alma mater, because the 4 years I spent at college were the happiest of my young life.
I'd fund research to find a cure for endometriosis, because a dear friend of mine suffers from it, and suffers terribly. Nasty disease.
Lastly, I'd donate a pile of money to a certain New York hospital, because its personnel did everything humanly possible to save the life of someone I loved -- and when it became clear that they couldn't save him, they tried to make him as comfortable as possible. It would be my way of saying thank you.
Depends, are we talking $1 million or $101 million or what? :D
First, thank you. This thread reminds me that I'm already very fortunate, and it doesn't hurt to remember that and say thanks every once and awhile (in my case, that would be to God.) There isn't anything I need that I don't have or couldn't buy, and I don't have to lose sleep at night worrying about where I'll get money to pay bills. That makes winning any amount in a lottery an "extra" in my life. If the lottery I won was an amount on the low end closer to the $1 million mark, I'd continue to work at my current job and share the windfall with my relatives and favorite charities.
It the lottery I won was an amount on the higher end, I'd still share the windfall with my relatives and favorite charities. But I'd also quit my job and set up the "Cheyenne Foundation." I'd be able to spend my time administering the money to be able to benefit the most worthy charities of my choice. I'd still work, but as a volunteer of some kind for a group that could use my skillset but couldn't afford to pay me.
And I'd throw a party for everyone from Lit, giving each of you your own swimmimg pool. No worry about Wizard that way.
I think I'd turn the money over to my sister, who is good at handling money, so she can do whatever needs to be done. I'd go on as I am.
I don't handle money at all well. Better if someone else does it.
Things I'd do, in order:
1: Tithe.
2: Pay off my student loans.
3: Buy a nice, smallish house in Ireland.
4: stick the remainder in the bank and give myself an allowance off the interest, and live as a hermit, writing for the rest of my days.
I know that's not as cool as dying my hair platinum blonde, getting a boob job, and heading to the coast.. but sillily enough, the above is pretty much my life's dream. *L*
It's ok, I don't take offense. I didn't want to do free urine sediment analysis for you at your big Lit bash, anyway.
(that'll show her). hehe
I would buy her more clothes so she could put Oliver Clozon.
Heeheeeheeee snort heeheeeheee
Okay, so I thought it was funny!
If we're talking the grand price I would probaly do the following.
Pay my debt.
Buy a big fucking house.
Build a fully functional digital music studio, with everything you could possibly want.
Start making music Full time.
Buy a Dodge Viper and go cruising.
Take Angel on her much wanted trip to France, and Aussie Land.
Whatever is left, I'll invest to make even more money.
Well here's for dreaming :)
Bobtoad, why don’tcha get your mom one of those big honkin’, ride ‘em cowboy mowers, and she could have a blast driving that puppy around her estate, like Martha Stewart, but normal? I think that would be a blast.
Laurel…a fraud-proof voting script. Sounds like a great idea if fraud is indeed going on. (<cackles merrily> I KNEW there was a reason my story wasn’t Number One! Just kidding!)
Nicole, the nicest part of America would be a difficult thing to agree on. I suppose you’d have to just take a tour and decide for yourself. Hawaii is beautiful and a luau is always fun. (I’d skip the poi, though, unless you like to eat purple wallpaper paste.)
Yeah, I didn’t mean PARTY. I don’t “party” anyway. I’d prefer a quiet shindig (sp?) near the beach, so the breeze could be blowing on us. It would be cool if those of us who had kids could bring them, but then again, that might be weird.
And what makes you think I wouldn’t like to see your wiggle? I’m not into same sex stuff in reality, though I don’t mind reading about it or watching it on video. I enjoy looking at a graceful and/or sexy woman as much as the next person. We’ve had our differences, but I sometimes wonder if we met, or even interacted off this board, whether we might end up liking one another.
Cheyenne, thank YOU for reminding me that I also have a great deal to be grateful for in my life. A great deal.
Oliver! I laughed out loud when I read that you wanted to help me get knocked up, and that rarely happens on the board. Er, the cracking up part, not the knocking up part. The problem is that, being an almost doctor, you’d probably know all about the timing and ovulation and we wouldn’t have to try and try and try again...<snaps her fingers>
By the way, what DO doctors do for party entertainment?
Ah, Whisper, you've done it again. I could swear that sometimes you read my mind! I've been thinking about posting this question, but just haven't gotten around to it. Anyway, here is my answer.
If I Won The Lottery
by April
If I won the lottery, I would split it with my husband.
I would then divorce him, pack up my stuff, and move away. Probably to the California coast. I would buy a modest sized house, and live there by myself. I could then live my dream, and become a hermit! I would hire someone to tend the yard, and someone to come in and clean the house once a week. The rest of the money would be invested so I could live a quiet, modest life. And I would be happy.
I would buy Laurel and Manu everything they needed for the site and then send them off on a much needed Vacation.
All right! Get the guest room ready, baby! lol
Laurel…a fraud-proof voting script. Sounds like a great idea if fraud is indeed going on.
No no no! I must say here & now I have NO evidence of any fraud...and our voting script is PRETTY damn secure. However, if we started giving away cash, that's bring out the weasels, and so we'd have to make it weasel-proof...
April - I like that last line: "And I would be happy." That's the idea...money should be a means, not an end.
I want to have enough money to be able to do what I want, but not so much that it keeps me from doing what I want. I want to own it, not vice versa...does that make sense? Or is it just late?
Piss easy!!!
Right now, my goal is to have cash to travel the world. So that would be my number one thing, but I'm not the sit on your ass type. I'd need to do something. So I think I'd start a pub/nightclub (Which is my dream right now), and run that.
I'd have a modest house in my favorite suburb, and holiday homes around the world, like the south west of West OZ (Dunsborough - A beachside town not far from Yellingup and Margaret River - famous for their giant surf), and Maybe a challet in France to Snowboard at. An apartment in NY, and a home in Northern California. Plus a country retreat somwhere in the States, maybe Oregon?
A 35 - 45 foot boat, or even just a nice speed boat to wakeboard with, and A Jeep Wrangler - My first car of choice regardless of money.
Plus, since money isn't an issue, I'll devote my spare time (Of which I'd have lots) to finding the right girl, writing screenplays, and doing all the adventurous things I've always wanted to do but didn't have the time or money to do.
If however we're talking about a million dollars only, it's a nice house right here, the club, the Jeep, and a small boat. A mortgage can cover the balance and the club can pay the bills.
I'll never stop working - I'll just make sure I work at somthing I truely love. That is the secret to happiness. That and hordes of models.
MADDOG
I would walk in to my bosses office and take a wizz on his fig tree. Don't get me wrong I like my boss I hate that tree.
I would then make sure that no one in my family wanted for any thing.
I would get that puppy that I have been wanting. Though "the boys" would be pissed.
I would build a rather large house on some land that I bought overlooking "the river" a couple of years ago. I would then proceed to put a large fence around it, call it Disney World and rarely leave it....except on vacation or my semi-weekly trips to the coast to do Aprils yard work ;)
If I won the BIG ONE I'd scream and jump around like a fool for a good while! Then I would do the usual stuff - take care of my family's needs and wishes, donate to a special charity, buy myself a pretty house and do some travelling, etc.
I would quit my current job (see "one sweaty night"), but eventually I'd get bored and need a project to keep me occupied. If only I thought my talent was strong enough, I'd love to hole up and write a few novels. But since I'm not that good, I'd like to start a really cool magazine.
And I'd have lots of dogs.
And I'd be happy.
Bobtoad, why don’tcha get your mom one of those big honkin’, ride ‘em cowboy mowers, and she could have a blast driving that puppy around her estate, like Martha Stewart, but normal? I think that would be a blast.
Well whisper secret i would but she preferes a good working push mower, she doesnt like them fancy ride on mowers.
and with all the pear, apple, plum, apricot trees who would want to plant you couldnt drive a ride on around the property.
btw why isnt anybody donating to that good charity the C&FoB?
I would pay off any and all debts I owe, set up a scholarship for our local high school. Build a huge, self-cleaning house with a heated pool. Make sure no one in my family wanted for anything. Probably set up some kind of business... and last but certainly not least donate to that Feed Bobtoad thingamajig :)
Easy -
I set aside just enough to put my 3 sons through school - nothing more for them. And just enough to invest and retire comfortably. Then I keep the gross, average, annual, American salary for my wife and I and buy her a present with that. The rest would go to charity.
