Hurricane Check In Thread

Rita passed here at about 2AM with a prolonged rumbling of thunder preluding the rain as she growled her way through the bootheel...
 
The GB has another sticky? (I've seen a sticky here every now and then) :eek: Excuse me whilst I have a major meltdown about it. 3,2,1. Ok, I'm calmer now.

I think it's great to find a thread where you can read who has checked in and is ok or still MIA. Very sensible.


I don't see nothing to have a lit fit about.

STD and another fifteen or so that voted their disdain on my poll.

Which ran about 50/50

The better question is how many people stick their fingers in the Lit Air to see which way the wind blows before speaking out.

You know as well as I do that there were a lot more people that were disapointed that we have a sticky and may again have stickies, but they dont have the courage, inclination, or interest in saying something percieved....as so widely unpopular.

This happens all the time here and its the KS's of the world that speak in large part for the weak, meak, and unassuming.

Not patting myself on the back. Im glad to do it. Its my thing, but dont fool yourself into thinking, or promoting that only a few were bummed to see it.

And Not for the essence of the thread. Youd have to be a demon to disagree with that, but this is the GB, and no matter how many times a fossil like Angel or Freya wants to tell you that a sticky has been here before.....let me say, Ive been here three years and have never seen one.

I think we can unstick this sticky now before KS blows a fuse. Hurricane all gone. Only Ritas we got now are served by Mezkins.
 
I've just received word that Sophia Jane who usually hangs out in the Authors Hangout (she lives in an area that took the direct hit of Rita) is ok .. she and her family made it to Oklahoma, though they're not sure when they'll be able to return home.

Actually, on your poll, the position that the sticky is OK leads 27-12. Hardly 50-50.While the notion that you are a courageous freedom fighter on Lit is laughable, I will commend you on having the balls to try to slide such a bald faced lie past people.

I am sure there are some people who had reasonable objections to the sticky, but had the good graces not to make assholes of themselves over it.

I started the thread on the GB because it is the main area in which I post.

No, she probably wouldn't have had someone not asked her. What the hell is the difference? It's her damn site, she can put ten stickies right smack dab in the middle of the GB if she so desires.
