How would you know if something serious happened to your best online friend or lover?

Do you have some sort of back up plan in place in case you never hear from him/her again? Or what if something happens to YOU...how would they find out?

Seriously, I assume all of my online friends have real life friends and family, and that they don't need me to keep track of them - that is unless they want me to, then they will give me the info I need.

Arrangements are being made with a family member of mine who knows Draco. He in turn can notify anyone else who really matters to me online.

The same is going on at his end. A family member will know to contact me and how should it be needed.

It's a scary thought to say the least because at one time I did talk to a person who lived several states away. They dropped out of sight one day and for several weeks I was worried sick. I finally tracked down a family member to learn there was an accident and the person was in recovery now. It made me sad that I waited for so long. I will never wait that long again. I have the telephone numbers, and other information of the people that I write with now. The people that I don't have could be rather easy to get the information for them if needed. This is the super highway of information and everyone {I think} can be found.

This just happened to me with on online friend who lives on another continent. I had not heard from her since way before x-mas. I just got an email yesteday again from her. She had come down with a serious illness not long after getting back from Africa. After a couple week stay in the hospital she just didnt have the energy to get onto her computer. When she did she had so much to catch up on it took her a while to get to me. I was very concerned not knowing where she went, but I too have my own life.

I was afraid somthing happened and it did. We now have local friends that have each of our emails so if somthing does happen again to either of us they can email the other person to let them know what is up.

My Lit lover and I keep in touch several different ways. Each of us has friends or family that have our respective emails and numbers "just in case". If one or the other loses touch with Lit, someone will be able to contact our closest Lit buddies through email addys.

I have thought about this a lot lately. I have no way of knowing if something happened to Southern. No one knows about me and I highly doubt that if anyone happened to find anything, they would give me a courtesy call.

I would have to find out tho, I couldn't just let it go, I would have to know. I would probably call his work, tell his partner that I was working with him on a job and hadn't heard from him, what was up?

He has no way of knowing either, but as long as I wasn't dead, I would send a message thru my sister to a mutual friend...she would make sure he got the message.

I can't even imagine what I would do or how I would react if something happened to Southern. How could I grieve? Not to be able to talk to anyone (in RL) about my feelings...the whole thought of it is devasting...lets change the subject!

My best friend in town has the emails of a couple of people that she knows she needs to get in touch with if something happened to me. And those same people have her email in case they get worried about me. She also has the link to lit and knows my name here, so if anything serious, as in death, happened...if she thought about it, she could always post something here.

I have to say that other people have his number and can get a hold of him in case of an emergency involving me.

As far as he is concerned,someone up there should call me if something happened as what we have together is out in the open and not hidden.

My brother would be able to contact her. But we have been concentrating more on her and how she could let me know if she needed me or was ok.

I've got their phone numbers, they got mine.... plus: i gave one of my best real life friends an envelope with their phone numbers, e-mail details in case something should happen to me.
