How Many Days Until Spring

It's give and take as far as that goes. We're over here stuck in this ice box of a flu outbreak. Meanwhile, I'm watching the Australian Open a few weeks ago and they were having days with 100 degrees +.

I had an elderly aunt who passed away yesterday from flu complications. The last remaining sib of my father. I'm sure I'll be traveling to her funeral later in the week. It's about a five hour trip.

My condolences, Bro. I have one uncle remaining, he's 92 and lives in Philadelphia. I reach out to him often because I appreciate that link to the previous generation. So I can relate.

We got that Super Bowl out of the way, played this year in polar conditions (at least outside the sparkly new dome), so that's a big hurdle out of the way.

When my son was at Penn, he lived right on S. Broad and the Mummer parade went past his place. He used to get a kick out of that. I enjoyed visiting him there, great city. It was a great game too.

I like to check off winter milestones on the way to Spring. The super bowl is one, and that's behind us. The next is Mardi Gras, a week from today.

We're getting there, just very slowly.
