being asked to a wedding... like as a "date"? Especially guys...

See, I'm gonna be in my friend's wedding on Friday, and, as is customary, there's gonna be a "baile" (dance) afterwards, and I want to ask a guy to go with me (well, there's also the fact that I rented a room... and don't want to sleep there alone!) but I'm not quite sure how asking for a date to a wedding will be taken.

So, any guys (or girls who have an opinion), your help would be most sincerely appreciated!

I would gladly go....weddings can be such a kick! Usually there is good food, good music, fun people (who are usualy partially to completely smashed), and a good time.

Convince my wife, and I would be honored to be your date.

hey, a party is a party!

yep...

a party is a party. And maybe if you ask, whoever, if they would accompany you or go as your guest it wouldn't hold as much meaning as if you asked for a date? Just a thought:)

Oh I don't think there is any rule against it, but I think it can be a real drag for your date. It depends though. If it is a real family kinda thing with lots of old friends and older people (not your date's age)and you are going to be all tied up seeing them, taking pictures, helping the bride, etc. then your date is gonna be sitting by himself getting wasted. Which means he won't be any use to you in that room you rented anyway! (Besides which it's the bride's night after all isn't it?) Oh well, if he's an "understanding" kinda guy then go for it. Tell him you're gonna make it up to him afterwards. Any guy will understand that!

Oh chicky what guy wouldn't think going to a reception (weddings are usually the boring part) with you that was full of good food, music and liberal with the libations wasn't a blast? And then to top it all off, some sexual fun at the end? That lucky guy would think he's in dreamland!

Thanks guys :) I knew I could count on you...

I do believe that you have answered my question!

I asked!

and my wife said I could go.

What shall I wear....TN Vixen gave me that night off from the new club....Bugles, Bulges, Bilges...something like that...

O!

Well Thumper, I don't really think you'd look nice in anything... so why don't you just wear nothing :)

We'll ditch the wedding and head straight to the room... and this way you can bring your wife! Hee hee ;)

Talk about your insensitive guys, huh, SeXy? Any 21st century man in tune with a woman's innate sense of romance (like myself, for example) knows that it's actually, "A wedding, a dinner, some dancing... a pork".

For some reason, though, I've been spending a lot of nights alone lately. Maybe it's my breath...

You never fail to crack me up, Mr. Clozoff :)

But I can't believe it's true... I've read so many nice things about you and your "talents" on this board... a "pork" just doesn't sound like you!

Well... maybe it's your breath?!?
