Only part of the government ever shuts down and those who do have to stay home can count on being paid by the Congress sooner or later, as they always have been in the past.

The real truth is, we need to shut the government down before it devours completely the private sector. As we stand, the national debt dwarfs the value of all gods and services produced by the entire population. In 8 years the unfunded liabilities of SS alone will exceed all revenues collected for that purpose. The total unfunded liabilities of the United States are estimated at 100 trillion and growing at 7 percent a year. That exceeds the productive capability of the entire civilized world. Yep, it's time to shut it down.

Any company, big or little, could request a one year waiver. Many of them did, most of them were offering those little "mini-med" policies.

All waivers expire permanently in 2014, so you'll have to find something else to gin up your trademark false outrage about.
