Today I bought a plot. It cost me £1407. The one at the side of it my dad bought for £8 in 1968. I found out only after burying mum in Jan you can't have 3 in a plot any longer in this cemetery, 2 and cremated remains only. I hate the idea of cremation so it's worth the price to me. This particular cemetery is nearly full. Pure fluke the space at the side was still empty (they are buried in the older bit of the cemetery). Maybe there was someone there donkeys years back? Anyway I might go lie on it tomorrow and see if it's comfy.

Have you got a plot sorted if you want to be buried? Are yours nearly full where you are? It's a concern innit!

Or praps you're going for a fiery end?

No plot planned.

Ashes to dust bin as far as I'm concerned.

Thought about the Reef thing, but it seems to be pricey.

Tennessee has a Body Farm for homicide and criminal forensics investigators to study what happens to you over time after you're tossed in a field. Might look into that too.

i wouldn’t mind donating the corpse to science, if they’d have it. if not, most likely cremation here. scatter me to the wind, keep a bit of me in a pot. did you know when you get ashes back, there are still some chunks of bone left? it’s not just soot. i also head they can compress you into a diamond. turn me into bling.

Signed all the papers years ago
medical science can have me then cremation and disposal
i have never understood the whole reverence of the dead body.
its just dead flesh and bone the person has gone
others will feel differently and that is fine.
I wonder if i can leave a request that i want Sto-vo-kor warned of my approach

Yea, the bone thing is a surprise when you've decided to scatter them somewhere windy. Had bits of Maggs in my fleece for ever.

I'm not keen on burial - all those worms. Maybe a peat bog so someone can find me in 3,000 yrs and wonder what gender I am - that would fuck them up  I told my friends I wanted scattered off St Davids Head on a nice day, when the wind is in the right direction. I've seen porpoises off the head - I'd like to be with them. Oh fuck - I just teared up, soppy tart.

I saw a QI tv show when they said a cat would wait three days then start eating your face. Face-meat they called it.

Cremation for me. But geez I have to rethink. There are some really good ideas here. Piranhas will eat bone too? I have really strong bones.

I am ok with cremation, until I begin thinking what if’s.
Being buried in the ground kind of freaks me out as well.
A mausoleum seems ok. 🤣

Oh yes, mausoleum with some snacks and a phone just in case

There was a ghastly Dr Who where they went to a kind of afterlife holding station and could hear the screams of people being cremated, because their souls still felt the flames. Then I remembered it was Dr Who, afterlife and bollocks

Cremation then ashes scattered on the top of Blencathra. Gonna be a cunt of a walk for someone getting up there though.

What if Dr. Who was correct? 😛
*Googling mausoleum

It’s too expensive to die.

You’re funny baby. Truly. 😊🔥

Seriously though my dad also had bought us all plots around the same time yours did. 68-72 something like that. I live in the USA though. Anyway fast forward to the 1990’s. Family had brown in different directions. Kids married and living far from where those plots were. Dad sold the plots for us kids. We each will do what makes sense either burial plots in Dallas Chicago Sacramento etc. or some may indeed go the fiery end. Happy to chat you about it if you like. I sense you’re not 100% sure of what direction to take. 🙏

Cremation for me. I want part of me scattered on mom and dad's graves and the rest to my daughter. I like the idea she will still have a small part of me.
