Graves & Burials

The fiery end is just the beginning, sort of a prequel to hell for me. While it's hot, as a non-Catholic, it shouldn't be too bad for me, with exception of the warm beer.

i wouldn’t mind donating the corpse to science, if they’d have it. if not, most likely cremation here. scatter me to the wind, keep a bit of me in a pot. did you know when you get ashes back, there are still some chunks of bone left? it’s not just soot. i also head they can compress you into a diamond. turn me into bling.
I'm planning to donate my body. I'm hoping to be useful in death.

And there's no fucking way I'm buying real estate for my rotting corpse.

There is no plot available close to my folks so that got me started thinking about Plan B. I'll ask my daughter if she would bury my urn with her, when she passes.

Yea, the bone thing is a surprise when you've decided to scatter them somewhere windy. Had bits of Maggs in my fleece for ever.

I'm not keen on burial - all those worms. Maybe a peat bog so someone can find me in 3,000 yrs and wonder what gender I am - that would fuck them up  I told my friends I wanted scattered off St Davids Head on a nice day, when the wind is in the right direction. I've seen porpoises off the head - I'd like to be with them. Oh fuck - I just teared up, soppy tart.

I saw a QI tv show when they said a cat would wait three days then start eating your face. Face-meat they called it.
cats are brutal assholes. being with porpoises sounds magical. getting scattered into the gulf of mexico just sounds depressing. i wish i had a nicer ocean. i wouldn’t mind being scattered in the river, but i’d probably just end up with leaches in the reeds. peat bog sounds amazing. 3000 years from now, you’d think the pubic bones would be nicely broken down.

granny came back from cremation slightly chunky. it freaked my aunt out.

mom knew a guy who tried to donate his body, but it was such a mess by the time he died, science didn’t want it. that almost sounds like a nice goal. i’ll be ready for my new body. not too concerned about this one, once it’s over.

You'd think those would be the ones they DO want. Try and figure out what all went wrong.

Pretty much.

But when come right down to it, I don't care all that much...alone we come into this world and alone we will go out lest Shiloh comes back first.

When Germans buy their plots they get 25 years occupancy then the plot is re-used. Cremation is terrible energy use and for the climate. Medical schools reject most of the carcasses gifted - especially if you die on a weekend. A wood chipper in an open field would be effective re-cycling but very messy. My choice would be the one that the Zoroastrians came up with 3,000 years ago; expose the corpse on a Tower of Silence and let the vultures go to work.

A very ladylike friend of my wife flushed the ashes of her husband down the loo. "That's terrible," someone commented. The lady responded "And I provided something to keep the bastard company."

I want water cremation then the remains put in one of those bio urns so I can turn into tree. I wanted one of those tree pod burials but they dont exist yet just the idea.

Today I bought a plot. It cost me £1407. The one at the side of it my dad bought for £8 in 1968. I found out only after burying mum in Jan you can't have 3 in a plot any longer in this cemetery, 2 and cremated remains only. I hate the idea of cremation so it's worth the price to me. This particular cemetery is nearly full. Pure fluke the space at the side was still empty (they are buried in the older bit of the cemetery). Maybe there was someone there donkeys years back? Anyway I might go lie on it tomorrow and see if it's comfy.

Have you got a plot sorted if you want to be buried? Are yours nearly full where you are? It's a concern innit!

Or praps you're going for a fiery end?
Love your idea of testing it out for comfort, have a picnic, take in the view. 🙂

How about cold storage?

Daughter charged after mom's body found in Chicago freezer

A Chicago woman is accused of keeping her mother's dead body in a freezer for nearly two years while living in a nearby apartment CHICAGO -- A Chicago woman has been accused of keeping her mother's dead body in a freezer for nearly two years while living ...
One of my grandfathers told my grandma that she should just keep him in the freezer in the basement when he passed away. He told her that then, any time she wanted to, she could just open the door and swear at him. I was in the room when he said this, albeit I was only about 9 years old. Some things are too precious to forget.

Similar deal going on with me.

What about the recycling plan put in place in California recently? You can be returned to Mother Earth as compost for the garden.
Not for me but, hey, whatever grows the garden I guess.
