No, I am not Pennsylvania Dutch. My family is from Baden Baden.
I travel to Berlin serveral times a year on business. I do not speak german very well, but I am learning. It is good to meet you also.

Baden-Baden is such a beautiful place - i've heard, never been there myself. And Berlin has developed to what i'd call a Capital. It has become one of the most interesting cities in Germany.
I live aprox. 2hrs from Berlin (Autobahn - fast car - hence the traffic signs reducing speed - lol), so i go there on business and for shopping like twice a year. Hamburg is the city i prefer - just an hour away from my place.
If you need any help in our language feel free to ask me.

Guten Morgen

I once had a blast in Hamburg, about 12 years ago.
Stayed up in a little bar in Eidelstedt with the bar owner and his wife until 3 AM, doing shots of Underberg and talking about random subjects.

Also had some fun in the Repperbahn - went there looking for some "food" but all I could find were blondes!

My spelling may be off after all these years, but you should recognize the name

Been to Germany many times - always had a good time there.

Ohhh...those shots of Underberg were killer.
Didn't seem bad at the time....but I did sleep for 12 hours.
Needed an entire bottle of asprin to get rid of the hang over. I guess the name is appropos - Under the Mountain.

I wandered the reeperbahn, looking for real "food" - all I saw were some of the sexiest women ever - all in 1 piece zippered jumpsuits - easy on / easy off

I didn't partake, just looked and drooled a bit. I really did need to find some food - but hookers and casinos were all I saw.

Not sure when I'll get back to Hamburg.
I tend to stay in Bayern these days. I like the beer.
Waiting 20 minutes for a Jever pils is just too long

Honestly - I've never been to the Oktoberfest (of Munich) myself.
Years ago I had some of my USMarines friends here in my city.
I tried to show them some nice spots and landmarks, but they weren't very interested in our historical buildings and stuff...
But when we headed to the local Oktoberfest they went like "Now this is how we thought Germany looks like".

But if you ever see a pic on a post here that you like, all you need do is right click on it, and open up the options section of the pop up box, and there you'll see the url for the pic. That'll take you back to where it originated.

Hallo Rex. Ja, Ja. Danke - es get mir sehr gut. Es war heute ein schones tag.

I've been to Kloster Andechs 2 or 3 times. Take the S6 or was is the S8 out to Hersching and catch the bus. I even found the kotzbecken there ;-) Not that I used it, but I had to see it - an item of immense size and reputation.

I've had a few masses of Klosterbrauerei Andechs Dopplebock dunkles in a sitting. Love it Even had a tour of the brewery - all the inner workings.
