From 84% a week ago all the way down to 83% in recent gallop. Please have mercy on our President and stop the left-wing conspiracy.:(

The best news is that the more the Dems dig, the more they are involved. Leiberman is being pulled in now. Enron was working with Clinton to get Kyoto passed because they would have made a killing. It just gets better and better!

Anyone know the words to Waterloo?

Or just hum along with me as I perform Wellington's Victory...,

"For he's a jolly good fellow, ..."

What did you expect? The man can't handle his pretzels. :D

LOL. I was discussing this whole thing with someone the other day & I wondered... "Why did he tell people he choked on a pretzel anyway?" He was by himself, nobody had to know the real reason he fainted. The pretzel incident just reinforces this buffoon image I have of the man. WHY report this shit? He's the President. Can't he keep this type of info from leaking? heh.. I think the American public should've been warned that he was pretzel impaired prior to him gaining office. I don't know about you, but I just can't trust anyone who can't swallow a pretzel.

*chuckle*

Because of the grief he got for not disclosing early the removal of a few growths. If he did not fully disclose every little aspect, the Democratic Party would try to turn it into a crusade against the secrecy of the right. Then the line would be, What else is he hiding from us? Does he have cancer? Is Cheney dying? Is Cheney dead and a look-alike is standing in for him? Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera...

straight up

Everyone knows that the President isn't human. He is not allowed to be human for God sake. I spose the red mark on his face could have been explained as a wack from his wife. lol

Oh BTW......Monica's 28th B-day was about a week ago. Hardly seems possible.....Seems like just yesterday that she was crawling around on her hands and knees in the Oral (Oval) office.

you are right

You may be right Lav, but I agree with what Sinthysist said. It seems that Enron made $ contributions to both parties. BUT the DEM got well over 250K were as the Rep got only about 50k. When they asked Bush for help he politly said no thanks.

I think the Democrats will come out of this looking much worse than anybody on the Rep side.

Another one to look at now is Kmart.

Oh crap...I'm not sposed to make any sense sorry.

Yes Lavy, but the difference lies in what they got. The Bush administration took a pass on helping them while the appearances are that things went thier way in India and on Kyoto with Clinton.

So really, no heads will roll since the press is loath to go after the CLinton's as Bush as been. They will get a pass again since the Democrats cannot dig too deep without exposing thier own weaknesses.

As far as economically, you may have some small argument, but I see no great Domino effect. Enron's contracts will be bought by other providers and Anderson will maybe fall a ways, but number 6 always wants to become number 5.

K-mart has been in trouble for some time. In fact thier losses have been mirrored by Walmart's market share gains.

no prob

I hate to disagree so vehemently, but overall the Republicans received far greater support from Enron. I know the Bush campaign did, not only from Enron, but their accounting and legal firms as well.

I'm not sure what support your speaking of other than $, and that wasn't much from what I've read. I'll look forward to seeing how it unfolds.

I just read the piece you submitted and simply disagree with the point of view expressed. I think most Americans will also. It is the same old class argument at a time when collectively, we are looking for honest people. Bush appears honest and the polls reflect it.

Your side has been looking for the AHAH beginning as early as the missing W scandal. I don't think this is it. This went on for 8 years under the nose of the same administration that went tooth, nail, and claw after big tobacco and Microsoft.

This may be the first election in some time where the party in power gains seats in the off election year. The Democrats are in disarray.

Smile and say cheese.

Polaroid is the other fiasco that should be looked into. Except it is just poor management there.

The have shitcanned retirees benefits and the severance packages they agreed to with employees that took early retirement, at company request no less. Yet, they are handing out bonuses to the very management team that took the stock from trading in the mid 60 dollar range to the point that you need ten shares to buy a pack of tic tacs.

When is the last time you got a bonus for fucking up?

I think it's time the average American worker took a couple of weeks off work...just to wake these greedy assholes up and let them know who really controls things.

General Strike.

Enron will be bad for Cheney. Bush has put sufficient distance between him and the whole mess. Cheney will be the sacrificial lamb. He has been stalling on releasing documents that the Senate has been requesting, despite his boss' seeming willingness to come clean. Dick has been in bed with these clowns for a long time.

And...didja hear about how Enron paid No taxes either?

You think the liberals are big business enemy? Enron will do more damage than any liberal or democrat has ever done. Give the fools enough rope and their greed will hang them:D

"Your" side spent 40,000,000 dollars and 8 years trying to get an "AHAH" and it was certainly a big one...a semen stain and a blowjob...good fiscal management;)

The democrats are in disarray? Didn't Custer say the same thing about the Sioux at Little Bighorn?

There are times that for some bizarre strange reason, like political views, that I want to become Thumper's sex slave. :p

Hah! I knew being a liberal had it's advantages!!:D

Climb up here in my truck wench!;)

Confession to J. Edgar Hoover

Hiding in the church of an abandoned stone,
A Negro soldier
Is flipping the pages of the Articles of War,
That he can't read.

Our father,
Last evening I devoured the wing
Of a cloud.
And, in the city, I sneaked down
To pray with a sick tree.

I labor to die, father.
I ride the great stones,
I hide under stars and maples,
And yet I cannot find my own face.
In the mountains of blast furnaces,
The trees turn their backs on me.

Father, the dark moths
Crouch at the sills of the earth, waiting.
And I am afraid of my own prayers.
Father, forgive me,
I did not know what I was doing.

40 million? That was a bargain. Marc Rich ripped of the tax payers for 48 million dollars when a million dollars meant something. Clinton spent 502 million bombing Iraq in three days. Just think of what B&H Clinton would have gotten away with without oversight. I think it was the best 40 million we ever spent.

thumpee

Come on thumper, can't we discuss facts unstead of rhetoric?

And...didja hear about how Enron paid No taxes either?

So lame......how many people did they employ, and how much taxes did they pay? How much tax does the company you work for pay? Companies are not in business to pay taxes. They produce goods and services, and employ people who pay taxes.

Enron was run by a bunch of crooked, scheming assholes that deserve to do the time for the crime.

I think it's time the average American worker took a couple of weeks off work...just to wake these greedy assholes up and let them know who really controls things.

Bad news, Thumper. The average American worker does not control things. If they did they wouldn't be average.

I know. Workers of the world unite.

Remember

The trucker's strike in England.

Damn near shut the whole British economy down.

We do control things. Because we can bring it to a grinding halt. Just not enough of them realize it yet.

How far can you drive when your car is on empty? Imagine pulling up to your favorite little convenience store and seeing a sign that says "No Gas". Now imagine that at every other store. They usually get deliveries a couple of times a week. No delivery no gas. The trucks would stop even quicker. I fuel up every other day and the truckstop gets deliveries everyday. They would be out in hours.

Use your imagination miles. The execs can't make the trucks or cars run without drivers, no matter how brilliant they are. How many execs flew the planes during the Comair strike? Almost broke the company. No matter, another company would pick up the slack and the pilots. He who can destroy a thing controls a thing.

I could use a break...I could survive...sit back and soak up some rays.

Yep..they employed quite a few at Enron..and now they have no money and the government will pick up the tab for that. My guess is the taxes paid by the employees will not begin to cover that cost.

I hope people at Enron and A.A. do some serious time if convicted . But the "workers" who had 100% of their 401ks in company stock got what they deserved. They acted out of greed and not common sense. Stocks are risky. Pick up a history book once in a while before you take over the world.

Agreed, anyone who puts all thier money into one stock (hell, even one sector) will take a hit on 20 or draw for an inside card to fill a straight.

Thumper has some real out-dated class warfare notions. Any bets that he's afraid to hold stock, keeps his money in the cookie jar, and pirates all his books, movies, and music...
