Endless Ends

Enny -

My daily lunch break and TV tune-ins has recently changed for the better . . . found a site that allowed me to download ALL five years (1959-1964) of "The Twight Zone" ! I now have over 125 30-minute episodes to peruse at my leisure. :D

Oh, and when you are tired of some weird scf-fi flicks, you might want to delve into Greek mythology . . . it's crazy . . . for example: Uranus was the son AND husband of Gaea (earth). But all was not perfect with them. Uranus despised his children, especially the Cyclopes and Hecatoncheires, and imprisoned them deep within Gaea. This act of cruelty angered Gaea, who sought revenge. Gaea fashioned a sickle and asked her sons, the Titans, to use it against Uranus. Cronus, the youngest and most ambitious, bravely stepped forward and castrated his father. This act separated the sky from the earth, marking the end of Uranus's reign. His severed genitals, when cast into the sea, created a white foam from which the goddess Aphrodite (goddess of love and beauty) emerged (her name derrives from the greek word for foam - Aphros).

And Aphrodite was no ideal godess: she had numerous affairs with both gods and mortals, including Ares, Adonis, and Anchises.

And you thought relationships were difficult today !

My anxiety is really up lately.

“A happy life consists in tranquility of mind.”

It is possible Cicero is correct. 🤔

Mine was really bad the last couple weeks but it’s better now.
I hope things settle out for you soon.
Thank you. 😊

I'm glad yours has improved. Mine has been on a slow rise the last couple of weeks. I suspect it may take a bit before things level.

Hugs. I was awake from 2-4 am thinking about shit I can’t control. Very unproductive.
🫂

Ugh. I can't get to sleep. Functioning on five hours a night is starting to wear.

So, color me surprised.

Susan Howatch is known for fictional Plantagenet treatments in the form of family sagas, and something in similar vein for the Church of England regarding history and exploration of faith. . Dense, massive novels comprised of complex relationships and psychological depth. I've haven't read anything of hers in ages, but always enjoyed her writing.

Today, I found she started her writing career with gothic romances!!!

I am now on a mission. :p

I looked her up on Goodreads and added a few of her novels to my Want to Read shelf. Thanks for the suggestion.

I always assumed anthropodermic bibliopegy was confined to eighteenth century medical treatise and fictional items in horror movies.

As a binding for erotica? 🤢
