Endless Ends

I am home.

I have run.

I now settle in for some October movie weirdness. After some searching, I have come up with:

Dracula's Dog (1977). (Not even kidding. :p)

Fortunately, the Universe, in her wisdom, decided not to make that available on my streaming platforms. Otherwise, I'd probably feel obligated to watch, and the trailer is...not inspiring.

Curse of the Undead (1959).

An Old West vampire flick. In black and white. I would never have guessed the vampire western genre - such as it is - went back that far. 🤷‍♀️

Pharaoh's Curse (1957).

Your standard "Crazed Egyptians follows the members of an archaeology expedition and kill them off one by one". Honestly, as often as that happens you'd think people would quit excavating. 😂

This has a twist. The killer gets older with each kill. Plus, I don't think I've seen it before.

Which will she choose? Will there be updates? Will she fall asleep instead?

*excitement is rife*

:p

I have to admit, none of those are appealing.

Curse of the Undead has the best poster, so that means it will be the best movie, right?
Isn’t that how it works?

Nope. Nope, apparently that's not how it works. :p

I tried the last two.

Could. Not. Finish. Either.

Eesh.

Turns out I'd seen Pharaoh's Curse. Once. The most un-mummy/vampire movie ever. And they used eviscerated when they meant exsanguinated.

Curse of the Undead. I...don't even know what to say. Weirdest vampire portrayal evah.

My perception of horror movies has been woefully discombobulated. 😂

That’s why I stick to the classcis! 🤣
Right? I mean, if it looks like a gunslinger, and walks like a gunslinger, and shoots like a gunslinger -

- Then it's probably a gunslinger.

Not - as they would have you believe - a vampire. 🤷‍♀️

And he walked around in the light. And he became a vampire through suicide due to fratricide. And he'd been dead for ages and still wasn't a good shot.

I could go on.

But I won't.

Lordy. :p

Today I became formally acquaintance with local emergency services.

What a week. :p

I am fine. In everything but my pride.

How is the emoji list has 🧙‍♀️, 🧛‍♀️, 🧟‍♀️, 👻, and even a 🧌, but there are -

NO WEREWOLVES

This seems vaguely speciest.

#eveningponder

Ponder . . . is there a connection with the need for local emergency services and a werewolf emoji ?? Curious friends want to know.

Beware: Even a man who is pure in heart, and says his prayers by night, may become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms and the autumn moon is full and bright . . .
I have questions.

So, what about a man who isn't pure in heart?

Do they turn more often? Kill more people? Grow extra hair?

#meta-ethics

Dang it! I am going to be thinking about this the rest of the night. 😂

🐶 <-- I just use this one for werewolf. 🤷‍♂️🤣
I....

No. Just no. 😂

Super cute puppy, though!!

"So, what about a man who isn't pure in heart?"

"Do they turn more often? Kill more people? Grow extra hair?"

Since the phrase begins "EVEN a man who is pure in heart . . . " That would, in fact, imply that men who are NOT pure in heart ARE subject to be turned into a werewolf, given the same appropriate circumstances.

As for killing more people . . . since when are werewolves selective in their victims? They are instinctive killers. Not predators, however . . . they do not eat their victims.

All werewolves are hirsute . . . it's up to their barbers how much they keep.

"I feel an expedition to Tibet coming on."

"Whose with me?"

And risk running into a Were-Tibetan Mastiff ???

I feel this is a somewhat stereotypical take. :p

I am stuck now, trying to picture! Does the barber wear silver weaved cloth, just in case a client gets feisty? Does he keep bottles of wormwood around to spritz any lupine that looks like they might get out of hand? Are there mistletoe prods at the ready?

Too. Many. Questions.

So much for sleep tonight. 🧙‍♀️

The Werewolf of London was hiking in Tibet when he was bitten, so …
You two.

Where's your sense of adventure? Where's the desire to show off your sangfroid?

Where's your intention to lend an ear while I whine my way through snow, high-altitude, and brutal mountainscape?

Okay. Maybe we should stay home. 😂

Never have had the opportunity to see an annular solar eclipse . . . must have been awesome! (y)

Now if someone had announced an annular solar eclipse party . . .

Oh, no! Were you unaware? It didn't occur, as you're usually so up on these things.

Geographically speaking, I don't think you would have seen anything more than a partial eclipse.

To be able to see an annular is rare. I think - by no means sure - the last one in the US might have been 1994, seen over Illinois.

What's crazy is Texas is getting two unusual eclipses within 6 months, positioned practically on top of each other! This annular, and then the total in April.
