Endless Ends

I’m guessing it will last until you get a ladder and reach that box. :nana:

Those dreams where you can feel are the best. Even if it isn’t a good feeling, it’s still pretty cool. But the ones where it is a good feeling . . .

It's been a week.

-Still chaste.
-Device still somewhere in a box.
-Still....

INCREDIBLY UNCOMFORTABLE

I blame my ex.

Somehow, someway, this is entirely his fault.

#kittenlogic

:p

@hotwords229_A, if you comment on the lack of any resemblance to actual logic?

I will come up there and huuuuuuuuurt you. 😂

* * *

Also, day out with the Bestie tomorrow!! I need some girl shopping distraction.

*crosses legs*

:p

I am, as of about 2pm, the somewhat confused owner of a Lilo and Stitch Halloween Onsie.

Do. Not. Ask. 😂

Now.

Off with the Bestie to have a drink with friends at a gay bar and then to a dance club where I intend to dance until I drop.

Physical exhaustion.

#distraction.

I thought dance marathons were a thing of the past . . .

So. I like quirky reading tie-ins and such.

One of Agatha Christie's characters, Ariadne Oliver is a mystery writer. She shows up in several of the Hercule Poirot books. Her detective, Sven Hjerson, mirrors the some of the issues Christie had writing the many-booked character of Poirot.

There is a one season Swedish series out which features Sven Hjerson. Solving crimes.

I. Am. So. In. :p
I've watched about half of the Hjerson series.

It's quirky!

:cattail:

Eesh.

Unfinished attic. Not where I want to spend my time.

Corpses, skeletons, scorpions, tight spaces, black widows, nails aplenty for the unwary, and then there's always the question of light. There must be enough light to see, but not enough light to, you know, see.

Besides, it's about 1000 degrees Fahrenheit up there right now.

Particularly in PPE. Which (of course :p) I am wearing.

I die.

*dies*

I love this movie. Christopher Lee as the Mummy was da bomb.

As it's obviously pre-pre-pre Halloween eve, I settle in to recover from the Horror of the Day with a little Horror of the Night.

House of Frankenstein (1944)

I was promised a sexy arc. :p

I did say romantic more than sexy. 😁
Don't harsh my...chill? Buzz?

I'm not sure. 😂

I substituted the word sexy.

Wish fulfillment.

Of course, you will still be held responsible if there is no sexy in the movie.

In other news. *thud*

What are the chances I will survive the physical challenges of this week? 🤔

Questionable. :p

I had not seen this movie before!

It was a tad discombobulating not seeing all the usual players in their roles. No Bela Lugosi, and Boris Karloff as a mad scientist rather than The Monster. Thank goodness for Lon Chaney!

Interesting Stuff:

-There was much unrequited monster romance going around.
-When Dracula reanimated from skeletal remains, the film makers made an attempt to show fascia and vessels appear in layers.
-When Dracula transformed from bat to...well, Dracula, he balanced on his tippy toes!
-The glacial ice cavern, complete with snow and ice stalactites, not to mention a frozen werewolf and Frankenstein, was wild. I did not know it stayed that cold underground in Eastern Europe. :p
-A hyperbaric chamber filled with steam to reverse the desiccation of Frankenstein? New.
-Speaking of Eastern Europe, the primary setting was Visaria. A mythical village, whose existence was established in The Ghost of Frankenstein (1942)

Naturally I am looking for this movie.

It's the 4th film in the Frankenstein series.

Who knew? :p

^^^ I love the Universal monsters. And I especially love the “monster party” movies that lump them all together. The sequel “House of Dracula” is probably the weakest in the series, but then “Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein” is an all-time high! (Seriously). It also puts Bela back where he belongs. 🦇

Is sugar an electrolyte?

*ignores all scientific evidence to the contrary*

I will now eat half a lemon pie.

What is it about the physical exhaustion associated with grueling manual labor than screams: Eat Sugar!!!

Dunno.

But I’m doing it. :p

There's a Abbott and Costello Mummy film that is also pretty good, if I recall....
Yup. I also really liked …Meet Dr. Jeykll and Mr. Hyde.
Tonight I collapsed on the couch and watched Vampires (1998), John Carpenter.

Critics were kinda meh, but what do critics know? :p
That one is pretty decent. Like many of Carpenter “lesser” films, it seems to get better with age.

Tonight's scary movie?

Son of Frankenstein (1939). This one has Basil Rathbone as the son of Frankenstein and Bell Lugosi as Igor!

That is some crazy stuff right there. :p
The kid from that movie (the son of the son, I guess?) was recently at a horror convention I considered going to but didn’t. Good to know he’s still around though. Plus, he cracks me up in that movie.
