I hope she has good success with that. I'm planning on a gastric bypass soon. The docs who do them at the hospital I use don't recommend the banding (and no, they have no financial gain for either; it is a military hospital with military doctors doing the surgery) because it supposedly isn't as effective.
I'm anxious to hear how she does, as I would prefer this method. Will you update us?

Well of course I'll keep you updated! she is with a couple of support groups with people who have had the banding and the bypass and they have had success both ways!! She is having it done at the Uniniversity of Louisville, I think and they recommended it instead of the by bypass and she will be part of a study group also, so she has to do follow ups for at least 5 years.BlueDaisy said:
