I love this. But if I were taking this picture, I'd move the book up a step so it is illuminated by the sun beam.

Edit: I also see @UnquietDreams point about the light NOT bring on the book being a very strong choice and it thereby creates a non typical narrative. In fact, I probably looked at the picture longer because I was analyzing the light and the other elements in the composition.
