Speaking of female-plumbing docs, I'm amazed at how difficult it is to find a female OB-GYN. My old doc moved, and I just spent half an hour calling offices trying to find a new doc. Some offices are not accepting new patients until August.

To answer the original question, I have never found anything stimulating about the exams. I've seen that tray of silver tools, and I spend the entire time trying to figure out how they get those things inside of me.

The funniest thing that ever happened to me was when I went to a nurse practitioner for an exam and after I was undressed, I saw her coming at me with a pair of yellow footies. I literally jumped and was getting ready to get up off the table because it's one thing to be asked to get naked and let them probe you, and another thing entirely to be asked to wear yellow fuzzy feet for the examiner's amusement too ... Quite a picture that would make.

Of course, the socks were for the stirrups and I was just being panicky and silly. I hate those exams too. With or without funny socks to wear.
