and sticking your head out the sunroof (or if you prefer moonroof)![]()
Ummm...what's a picture hat???
I remember the big vinyl seats and sliding around if they took a turn! Who woulda thunk that strapping in kids like astronauts on the way to the moon was what they should have been doing!
DYR when you were a kid and being outside with friends was the best thing in the world during the summer? You'd go to the park till noon, then home for lunch, then back out to the park to resume your games, then home for dinner, then back out with your friends to play whiffle ball, or chase, or tag. There were no video games or activities for Mommy to take you to every hour of the day.

Don't ask me it's your language. We would call it a sunhat.

)Do you remember when you didn't go ice skating at ice rinks, you skated on any frozen bit of water you could find....and skates were only sometimes necessary ?![]()
Or the windows also. Isn't a picture hat one that frames your face?
I was always a clutz and remember my parents got me "double runner skates" for xmas. I remember the pond full with kids and falling down over and over.
DYR shoveling off the court to play basket ball in the winter? We would play with a glove on the non shooting hand and no glove on the shotting hand.
I've never heard of a picture hat....and it is my language too. FSA, we should investigate, apparently we American English speakers are being remiss in our language!!!!
ETA~ I found it~
picture hat
n
(Clothing & Fashion) a decorated hat with a very wide brim, esp as worn by women in paintings by Gainsborough and Reynolds (both English artists)
How strange that it should refer to English examples
I never did this! I was into more girlie pursuits.
I thought so too, but I'd never heard of a picture hat, so being of the curious sort, I had to look
Do you remember when portable music first came in a transistor radio that got 3 stations if you were lucky, and mostly static at that?
DYR the blizzard of '78 ? Took out skimobiles down Main St. Police went out and bought 2 for the next year and we hardly had any snow... The people in my home town were pissed.![]()
Please elaborate
Do you remember when you men nearly always drove the cars

IRW I got up early on a Saturday morning, just to watch cartoons , long before 24 channels where available. Not getting breakfast until my Mam came down... some three or four hours later....

DYR H.R. Puffenstuff. Whitchypoo?...Tell me the creators of that weren't dropping acid. Purple Microdot...Mickey Mouse Blotter?
