Im relatively new to Lit and am not sure if there is a thread similar to this out there. If there is a apologize and the Lit police can shut it down. If there isnt, please enjoy.

I came across this post, http://forum.literotica.com/showpost.php?p=35429788&postcount=14352, in a different thread, and it had me thinking about how different life was back then. How when I was 10 or 12, my life was much different from my Dad's and how different the lives of my children will be from mine. Id love to hear about what you remember growing up.

I will give it a start.

Do you remember when.... there were only 6 stations on TV? NBC, CBS, ABC, PBS, and then you had the local stations? In Boston they were WLVI and WSBK.

Around 2 AM most of the stations would shut down to the star spangled banner playing in the back ground and not come on until morning.

mmm Ryan I will play with you since you want to play with me.

Do you remember not having a cell phone? When you had to find a pay phone to make a call if you were out of the house.

I actually had my first real date and umm fun at a drive in!

Do you remember when everything was shut down on Sunday's? No stores were open, no gas stations, nothing? A day you spent with family and friends.

Yep I remember those days ... had to buy beer for Sunday football the day before and prayed it was still there for the game. :D

Do you remember when the dollar movies actually cost a dollar?

believe it or not I do. we had a dollar here recently raised to $2.50

Do you remember when life was easy and all you had to do was pick something for dinner?

Ummm I remember them being under $5.00 in my teens. Im sure they could have been less when I was younger.

Do you remember, no ATM's? Having to make sure you took money out of the bank on Friday afternoon or Saturday before noon?

If you didnt like what Mom made, tough.

Do you remember in the 1980's McDonalds had an Olympic promotion giving away tons of food. What they didnt count on was Russia and the Eastern Bloc nations boycotting, and the Americans took home a record haul. It was free McDonalds for a month. (Sorry Mom, I hope you dont see this post for many reasons!)

when i was growing up, if you didn't have cable you were lucky to pick up 2 stations due to the mtns.. we spent a lot of our free time OUTSIDE. fishing, hunting, camping, sleigh riding, doing things we could have gotten in trouble for if caught, nothing really bad, but.......
there were times where i lived we did not have indoors plumbing. makes you appreciate it and not take it for granted. learned from elders how to identify plants that could be used, grow things, raise our own food, process it, etc.. life was more about living, not having.
and we related to each other personally everyday. not cell phones or the computer. we didn't worry about if the car broke down. someone got out and walked or flagged soemone down for help. most of the time you didn't have to flag anyone down. people stopped to offer help.
a lot different then.

I think most of it is better left unremembered

Do you remember when porn was such a rare commodity? I remember being 13 and hitting the gold mine when my friend and I stumbled upon his older brothers collection, hidden in the back of his closet!

Those were some rough times Mr Tenant.

Do you remember roller skating and riding bikes WITHOUT helmets?!

I remember when you got soda from the vending machines in the glass bottles...and they were always SO icy cold! I really miss that!

Do you remember when you prided yourself on your collection of vinyl records?
I remember when my older stepsister handed me some of her favorite artists when she went off to college.
The Doors, Bob Seger, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Bread, The Beatles.
So many records, so many days with those oversized headphones. <sigh>

I remember cassette tapes and how my fucking tape player usually ended up eating them. So, I had to try and repair the tape somehow but in the end I'd have to go buy a new tape........in an actual store and not online.
