i'm actually not racist...but i'm kind of tired of hearing at my job, well we can't fire them for not doing their job, being lazy, actually falling asleep on the job....because oh they are black and they said they would sue us for discrimination

Thats discrimination man. Its because I am Spanish and that is just all fucked up.
I hate when people I know try and use that because they are Spanish or black that this happened.

I'm not talking about "their" actions. I'm talking about the way the system works. First, our criminal defense attorneys are paid next to nothing, and the court appointed attorneys are sometimes completely terrible. It's not uncommon at all, for there to be written accounts of a defense attorney falling asleep at a criminal trial, numerous times.
Why are you going to impose the harshest penalty - death - upon those who have the worst representation? Where's the justice in that?
Additionally, it's not because of excusing "their" actions because of "their" race, it's by understanding that there is prejudice in our society. A black man, convicted of murder before a jury, is more likely to receive the death penalty than a white man. It is simply deeply ingrained prejudices that it's hard for society to overcome.
Add to this the fact that for decades police have fabricated evidence, lied at trials, blah blah blah - and we know quite a bit about how racist police departments can be.
So Aquila, before you shoot your mouth off about something based upon uneducated opinion, why don't you try studying the facts for a long time.
