Comments That Make Your Day

I rarely get comments for some reason but got an email today where the reader was dictating to me how the next part of the story should go beat by beat.

I often get, "Oh my God, more please" comments, sometimes with a few hints as to what they'd like (usually very prosaic and uninspiring), but never a proposal to take over the story completely. That's just odd - why don't they write their own story?

My latest story got a bunch of nice comments. One that stood out was:

"Shit are all of your stories this good. I'm gonna a see what else you got because that was the best story I read in months."

It seems a *tad* hyperbolic, but anything to stroke the ego. They didn't put comments on anything else, so I'm going to assume the rest sucked.

That matches up with this on the same story:

"Excellent story. Your writing gets better and better with each new submission."

Well now that just puts unnecessary pressure on me. If I don't continue to improve I'll feel like a massive failure. But it jives with the earlier stuff not being as good.

I enjoy all feedback, even the ones that tell me I suck. ;)

Forgot to post this one the other day. Simple but...:) Anons in LW saying nice things!

Great Story !!!!!

I rarely get comments for some reason but got an email today where the reader was dictating to me how the next part of the story should go beat by beat.

I'd rather be Tom Jones in his prime and have panties throw at me on the stage. Now that would be good feedback!

I've had one of those. I'd get the next set of suggestions every time I published a chapter.

It was all detailed, and good humored enough that after a couple of emails I replied, explained that the story had been finished several years ago, and encouraged him to write and post stories here based on his ideas.

Another nice one this morning:

Very Good Read

Here'a a sample of the comments I got on my latest posting: Done Too Soon:

Emotionally draining but beautifully written story. While the ending was no surprise to those who are bought into the Virginiaverse the story of what was going on in Bonnie's head brings another layer leading to the plot twist. Brilliant.

I have company coming tonight and I have to tell them why my eyes look like I have been crying........ What a amazing wonderful and sad story.

One of the saddest yet most beautiful love stories I've ever read. The only story that made me cry.

I can't really remember a story where I became so emotional from the start, and maintained that level of emotionality to the finish. This story was very difficult to read for a variety of reasons; not the least of which was feeling like I was reading it underwater due to all the tearing up. The truth of this story is that you only find out the depth of love by charting the actions of those involved when faced with that kind of crisis. Bonnie's and Virginia's love was obviously incredibly deep. 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

It's nice to see that my writing evoked the emotions I wanted the reader to experience ...

Sampling of good ones

All of your stories turn me on. The ending was totally unexpected.

VERY SENSUAL.
vERY GOOD STORY, AND SO SEXY. MORE STORIES, PLEASE

The story was well written. It is a vignette of a larger story, as seen by the epilogue.

Grrr... i want more... 😋

i've returned to this one
I am a female who recently found this site. I must say I have returned to your story a few times to bring my self to a orgasim. I have tried reading a few other stories on the site, but they don't give me the same reaction. Keep up the writing.

wow
I'm not into this stuff at all..but this wasa great story. I could visual ize everything happening. nice writing

Jealous
I would trade places with her in a heartbeat. This is well written and moves along nicely. Some follow up chapters might be nice.

very wild
Your story was full of very erotic and naughty detail. The thought of being this helpless and having such naughty things being done to me, well got to me. This story is one of those secret desires alot of us keep hidden.

Not for everybody, indeed
This was excellent, and probably the darkest story that I have ever said that about.

Over the course of a couple of days, someone left nice comments on six of my stories. Here is what they said about Compatible Bedfellows:

This story is cute and endearing. Thank you.
It brings back memories of an apartment mate and me gradually becoming much more.
I am grateful for your wonderful pacing of the story.

Unfortunately, they posted anonymously, so I have no way of contacting them, although they eventually signed themselves Appreciative in Toronto. I hope they happen to read this post. It's wonderful to get a single comment once in a while, let alone to have someone take the time and effort to read and comment on multiple stories. I am truly appreciative to Appreciative in Toronto for having done that.

Got this comment the other day:

"Very sweet. You wrote Jenna very well - I have a little crush on her. And I’m 53, so yeah, it resonated just a bit...This is the kind of intelligent, thoughtful story that makes lit worth reading."

I think someone developing a crush on a character I created is probably the best compliment I could get.

I have avoided looking at comments or votes on The Case of the Rich Man's Wife, my entry in the Hammered event. But today I broke down and read them. I was pleasantly surprised with both.

What to say about your story?

This is hard to sus out for me because the story is good. However, I don’t read your stuff for plot-rich character studies of a woman doing a man’s job. I read you because you write some of the hottest sex scenes. I read for the nastiness you show. And this story had little sex.

I know it is some special thing for you. But this is a fucking long story for so little fucking. I don’t know why you wrote some horrible long story about this woman and did not include, at least, eight fuck scenes.

I gave you a good vote, but I’m disappointed. You’re better than this. This mystery, hardboiled shit isn’t why I come here.

Please understand, I did enjoy the story, just a new one from you, and expected a short sweet or rough sex romp. The old phone shit, the liberal use of the kind of talk of the period, was great. Just more sex next time, PEASE!

I had been a bit worried about this, but he/she/they/them/it didn't hate the story, so that pleased me.

What a great tale. It sound like Chandler, Hammett, or Cain. Very detailed story, I was never sure where it was headed. I realize this was written for the Mickey Spillane event, but man could we use some more of this woman's adventures.

This one made my day, exactly what I hoped for, should any one who had read the masters would say. I've never read Spillane so I know it wasn't in his stile.

I got this one this morning on "Homeless." It's my new favourite.

"Anonymous about 4 hours ago
I will not read anymore of your stories. I spend too much time with tears in my eyes. Time for me to register with Literotica so you can be in my first five favorites!"

It just made my day!

Post your comments when a fan makes your day. :D

Gordo. Just read Homeless and absolutely loved it. I wasn't even upset when I realized there was no sex lol.

Great stuff, just wanted to say

Thank you very much for that comment. That made my day! :D

PS: don't tell the left-handed mousers about no sex. I've written several like that now and been surprised at the results! :) In fact, you made me realize the majority of my stories have little or no sex in them, 12 out of 19. I'm a failure on a sex site.

The Bet (minimal), Hidden Boss (very little and not descriptive) & Following Laura's Footsteps are sexless. A 750 word: Gotcha...geez, the list goes on & on!

I'm still pretty new here so have rarely come across a non sex story, or at least one that's interested me. Not to say I read nothing but smut, just not what I usually expect HERE LOL.

if I don't see the words "cock," "pussy " or "tits" within the first three paragraphs I'm surprised.

I'm certainly gonna give your other stories a read as I have time, sex or no sex.

I'm up to ch4 in the Jenna series. Fkn 5* hot let me tell you. Just a nice slow burn. Those are the type of stories I enjoy best. And uhhh, it tickles an old fart's fantasies

You're an excellent writer!

Wow, thanks. I truly appreciate that.

The Jenna series has been my most fun to write; I honestly never know which direction Jenna is going to take it next. She's pretty much been in charge since chapter 2.

I still look back on chapter 1 and cringe at some grammar, spelling and punctuation errors lol. I'm always afraid those will turn people away from continuing, not realizing I've slowly learned to edit lol.

So it's great to hear the story is finding an audience despite the beginning being rough around the edges.

So, I collected some of the responses that made me feel good from everything I've put up so far (except my first story, I think I already posted some from that one and don't wanna repeat):

Cry Little Sister: (I genuinely thought this one would get reamed because I submitted it to Fetish and it was changed to Incest/Taboo)

The pacing was perfect and the characters fit together so well. I hope there is a way to continue this story maybe into them actually getting married and eventually Julia's mom appearing in the story

Most enjoyable with almost unbearable tension and a very satisfactory conclusion.

More please. this is such a heart wrenching story filled with real love that I want to read what happens from here.

Edit- More came in after I made this post:

Absolutely fantastic story with lots of twists and emotions. Would love too see another chapter of them pissing her mother off with an official proposal and wedding. Maybe another child they both mutual enjoy conceiving. Maybe they expose the mothers unfaithfulness with wild parties.

Honestly, this story has made me post my first comment. Well written, great grammar, vocabulary is on point, the story is well paced, your characters are believable and it's just a really enjoyable read. Well done. I look forward to delving into more of your work.

Well this was a beautiful love story that was well written with a great storyline that deserves and almost demands a continuation. I hope the author continues this love story soon with additional chapters. Well done 5+++stars

Blood Wine:

Aw, this story ended up sweet and happy =] I was so worried for the first six or so pages, trying to find the romance.
Love grandma and her magic!

Interesting read. For most of it I thought you had it in the wrong category, but you knew the ending and it was both a disturbing, and beautiful erotic tale. I enjoyed it. Thank you.

What a lovely romance
After all the drama, I thought it was going to turn out differently. Now it appears the wolf will have a mate.

Friends and Family:

That was an excellent piece of writing with build up of characters and emotions. The brothers fighting for her was a nice piece of drama. Good ending.

Don't Say A Word:

This is really well written and very erotic. For a story with zero dialog, it keeps your attention surprisingly well.

A Confession:

A raw, honest baring of the soul. Very vulnerable, exposing.

A Fragile Mind:

This is so well written. That final stanza is heartbreaking.

You are the puppeteer. Your words are strings and we are your dancing toys. Who will you write to tomorrow? 5 Star show!

For what it's worth: I can point out a dozen mistakes I missed just on a glance in most of them. So as appreciative as I am of the praise, there are definitely mistakes in all of them, lol.

Wonderful comments. The mistakes...meh! I've yet to produce a perfect work or see one on Lit. Even edited ones have them. It's not something to worry about as long as you've done your best.

I received a 'fan' email today. The fan had just finished reading one of my 'proper' novellas - not a Lit story. She said:

'So easy to read, and describes the surroundings perfectly. A great portrayal of character. I loved it.'

What made my day was 'So easy to read'. It's one of the things I strive for.

:)

This one from yesterday tickled me:
This story is so good that I registered on the site just to post this comment. :)

Also from yesterday, one of my favourite of my own non-erotic stories finally got its first comment! I was really pleased, because the reader clearly read it the way I intended it to be read, as a carefully plotted mystery story, where the surprising truth is revealed at the end.

I did enjoy reading this entertaining noir story. It jumped out as noir right away from the spartan dialog pieces. I caught a glimpse of a clue or two as I read through it... You said it was non-erotic but I believe you are wrong ...

Just got a new one in on: Following Laura's Footsteps. (LW yet) (oh yeah, no sex  )

Thankyou for creating this short brilliantly moving story.
I read this story a couple of years ago. It is one of the most memorable delightful stories I have read on this site.
Then, being old and forgetful, I forgot the title and author.
I am so pleased to find it again.
I was still moved to tears reading it through again.
A R W

Well A R W thanks a million. That made my day! :)

Got this one the other day on a 9 year old LW story

"Best Burn The Bastard story ever!"

Damn straight it is, suck it incels. :D

Another nice comment this morning for The Gunfighter. Another LW story BTW.

"5 stars.
A cute story.
You have the ability to create believable and likeable characters.
Not perfect characters with superhuman abilities or traits.
Just everyday ordinary flawed characters all wrapped up in a subtle sense of humor so each story portrays a levity that adds to the pleasure of reading it.
Thankyou for the time and effort you put in so we mere mortals can enjoy ourselves.
A R W"
