They've added "Black Friday" here due to the influence of American-owned stores here. It isn't the big deal it is in the US, nor is it our busiest shopping day.

Not Thanksgiving here, of course. I had cabbage rolls for dinner.

I like to save money more than the average person, but I'm not into shopping on Black Friday.

This is a refreshing thread - sort of like stopping home for a few minutes.

Glad you like our thread. For now, at least, we're always open. Although I am not usually here this time of day, not like in the beginning.

Couldn't sleep as I was "twitchy" (it happens every so often). I had to give up and let my body relax at its own speed, which it has done. For now, completed a few pages of writing. The most I've done in several weeks, I hope it's a good sign.

Hey Bistro . . . wake up!!

What's going on? . . . all those in the lower 48 still napping after the Thanksgiving over-eating and over-imbibing?? . . . all those Maple Leaf folks depressed over the first cold weather and snow?? It could be worse . . . you all could be dodging the southeastern US forest fires and smoke!! Maybe some relief coming . . . first rain in 45 days!

Hello to plesmore . . . it's not always this quiet here in the Bistro, so please stop by on occasion, kick back and enjoy a glass of wine.

BrettJ, good to see you putting a few new pages together . . . hang in there! :)

Slowly writing. The ideas are there but the dedication is not. We got snow today and it's December already.

I was to have tests today, but something in my body continues to be out of whack. No matter, because the hospital called back and said the machine was not functioning anyway.

Hoping all remain well. We have died down out here, that is a fact.

Polished off a week that was over 70 hours of work, but had some good times.

Hope everyone has a good week next week.

I miss being able to do things like overwork and push my limits.

We got snow today, fair bit of it. The ground is now covered. Most may remember I don't much care for winter. It is worse when you're ill and having breathing issues.

Hope our room amuses some of you. Anyone got an interesting, new anecdote or a sexy story to share?

Good Morning Brett and all you Posters:kiss::rose:
its Monday and its cold here ~ we had Snow for almost 2 Weeks now and suppose to have more in the next few Days :( guess I will have to look for my Pantyhose;)

I wasn't happy to see winter starting, but then again, I never am.

We had an inch of snow fall this morning. It was interesting to see the out-of-towners driving in the slush.

A lot of ours has now gone, but some still remains, indicating the beginning of winter. I can't really bitch too much, as it's held off this long. However, the cold will present new challenges I am not looking forward to.

Roads here are okay now but they were a mess last night.

Finally much needed rain here. The Pinnacle mountain fire which was nearest to me is now 100% contained. Prayerfully soon it's 100% out.

So I'm sure most saw or read about the fires in Gatlinburg and Sevierville. Cabin Fever is gone. We haven't seen it yet but it's gone. It was nestled right in the woods. Built of Pine. Filled with the best memories. I'm planning to head to that area before Christmas. Not much more I can say.

Hugs from a teary eyed very sore CO Host. Sore from having coughed so much.

Sorry lovely lady.:(

Sorry that I missed NRSE. Back on my desktop after a few months. NO idea why it seems so much slower.

Not much new, except idiot neighbor is getting noisier again. I may have to consider leaving for a night again.

Eventually I will get everything restored, I hope.

Good Morning "Everybody" :kiss::rose:
We are having a heavy Snowstorm thank God the Power came back on so we have some Heat in the House and I can have my Morning Coffee:)

For those not in the know, LING lives in a province known for very cold and snowy winters, much worse than ours here in Ontario. We barely have any snow as of today. I won't be going out regardless. I got VERY sick yesterday and most of this day, with headache, nausea and other things. Not sure if it's flu, migraine, pancreatitis (it came back) or all of the above. I was fine - then I wasn't from 8 PM on. I am only now up, but after checking my sugars, they are normal. Me, not so much. I hope to get some things done today. SO sick of being sick, but this is my new normal, I guess.

A decidedly UN-sexy day for me, LIT-sters.

Oh well, at least I have my desktop back.

BrettJ and Bistro posters . . . based on NRSE's post last night, and the loss of her family's cabin in the Gatlinburg, TN area forest fire, she needs our support and hugs!

The loss of family possessions is never easy to deal with, especially around the time of family holidays. Yes, wonderful memories will remain, but right now I'm sure such a physical loss is devastating.

Thank you all. Thank you :)

I'm gonna be OK. Right now I just feel like what else.
I thinking about quilts and cushions. And my mom's swing. She had this huge swing made that 4 people could swing in at once. The cubbyhole under the stairs. The loft bedrooms. And the snow. It was so beautiful when it snowed.

I still have so many memories and not even fire can take those. I surely appreciate the support.

Ling you stay safe and warm. I'm sending hugs. BrettJ I'm continuing to hope the road will get a bit easier for you. Sending hugs to you as well !

I know what it's like to lose cherished possessions, so here's a good thought for NRSE. One of my oldest friends lost his home to fire - twice.

The road continues to be rough. With winter arriving, I know my health will take a bit of a nose dive. Yesterday was rough, I stayed in today. The cold makes breathing difficult.

I am still here, but one day at a time.
