Obama is lying every time he opens his mouth.
Brilliant as always Miles.
You're a real intellectual force on these boards.
Always have been.

Obama is lying every time he opens his mouth.
So it's Christian mythology that is really the issue?
If I were you I'd spend more time being concerned about the survival of Israel.
Ole Joe spoke with some authority about Obama being tested within the first 6 months of his presidency, assuming he's elected. I've spent some considerable time thinking as to what that test might be.
Hypothesis; Obama is elected. Israel launches a pre-emptive attack against Iran. Iran, not being able to retaliate directly against Israel, attacks US interests in and around Iraq. What would Obama do that would cause wide spread loss of support?
Prosecute a war against Iran with vigor?
Throw Iraq and Isreal under the bus? (He certainly has a track record of doing that to people and policies he finds inconvenient.)
Or some other action?
Quite frankly that's the only foriegn policy disaster I can think of that's tied inextricably to an Obama election. Certainly there are other events that might occur, but none with such an obvious and undeniable cause and effect association.

My primary concern is and always will be this country.
Just because ole Joe said he thinks Obama will be tested doesn't necessarily make it true unless you believe he can see the future.
As for your hypothesis, I think he would do whatever the current capabilities and readiness of our military allows him to do. I have no fears that he will throw anyone under the bus.
Well Zip, it is not without coincidence that the two campaigns recieved their initial national security briefing just a few days before Joe shot off his mouth. It is no secret that Bush has worked diligently to withhold Israel from a pre-emptive attack. Youi'd have to be blind not to see the distinct possibility of an Obama election being the straw that broke the camels back.
Your concern for this country is laudible, but we aren't a self-supporting island nation surrounded by walls 200 miles high. It is a fact, one might even call it a regretable fact, that in many cases the well being of this country is tied to the continued well being of our allies. Sometimes even to nations that can't truly be called allies.
While it can be debated, and has been ad infinitum, whether we should have ever gone into Iraq, that debate is all based on second guessing. The fact of the matter is that we did, and there you go. There should be no debate as to the consequnces of throwing Iraq to the wolves, and indirectly Israel as well. Those actions will have severe, and negative, reprocussions for the US. Actions that will go much further to embolden those states that are actively working against our interests than will bring any peace of mind, or economic benefit, to this country.
It continually amazes me that there is a large segment of our population that believe that the leaders of these nations are rational, and that their populations all want the same thing we do. The facts are that they aren't necessarily rational and the populations don't necessarily want the same thing.

I can see it now....Israel responds to an attack from Iran, and Obama calls for restraint from both sides.
Miles is the intellectual equivalent of yeast.
On the plus side Miles is usually brief. The part we miss is him staring down at his shoes while simultaneously mumbling under his breath. That's gotta be priceless to see in person.
I disagree.
Yeast rises.![]()
MeeMie, Barack Obama is a liberal with a lot of radical leftist friends. That's one of the reasons for his popularity, especially among the well educated. Get used to it.
America is over with if obama gets in.
America is over with if obama gets in.
Anyone thought to ask how long Michelle and the lovely and gracious terrorist bomber Mizz Dorn have been friends?
I didn't think so...
NA!, Na, na..., I don't say Gawd Bless America, I say Gawd-Damned AmeriKKKa...
Obama, Ayers, Dorn, Michelle, all have the same goal, the radicalization, socialization and take-over of first our schools, and then our political structure in the vain attempt to create yet another People's Paradise in the mold of Che, Fidel, and Hugo...
Barack Obama is lying, and he knows it, remember, this is all about just a handfull of votes in two, maybe one state now...
He needs to fool some of the people for four short weeks, and then all hell can break loose, gawd knows the party will and then the masks, clothes, and inhibitions will fall off and then the Democrats will get to see what I've been seeing;
The Berkeley Generation doing what they set out to do, first as Weathermen and Black Panthers, now as a successful lawyer and gentile professor of education. That's the difference between radicals before and after "mentoring."
Michelle hooked up Barack with his mentor Bill Ayers and his preacher, the Rev'rund Wright. I think Barack found Rezko on his own, or Ayers may have made the introduction when he held Barack's coming out party (a favor Barack repaid by blurbing Bill's book).
So, tonight we're gonna party like it's 1999...
More importantly, would it make a difference if they did?
I guess your post depends on what constitutes "throwing Iraq to the wolves" and whether or not the fate of Israel is linked to the fate of Iraq, which is certainly debateable.
I don't see Iran attacking Israel at all in the near future.
As for your last paragraph, you have argued that very point on these boards, although not for quite a while. I remember quite a few times that you and A_J said we don't have to do anything to Iran since their people are going to revolt and throw out their leadership and that the Iranian people are rational and do want the same thing as we do.
While I'm no Cheyenne, being and oldie here does have it's advantages.![]()
