My house has been turned into a spider webbed, ghoul infested, scary scary haunted house. It's something we started last year. For the past three months we've been building mazes, turning bedrooms, dining room, and everything in between into a real spook fest. It started out as just a one time event, but it was so popular that we're doing it again this year.

We have seven kids still living at home, and they each invite 7 friends, we put them in groups of threes, tour them through the house, then have the party out in the backyard, with all the goodies and pizza. We keep picking up people LOL, 13 actually are inside the house doing the spooking. While, I think we're up to 15 tour groups going through. It's going to be a good time. But it's hard work!!!

Tomorrow night is the night. 6:45 PM to midnight. I think we've lost our minds....

I ought to post some pictures of the house. I'm really proud of what we've done with it.

Happy Early Halloween

I'm having a party, but it's nothing as elaborate as all that, lol.
The house is decorated as usual, (which is obnoxious on its own, lol.)
I've got spooky music CDs, and this 'Monster Mash' CD with dance type songs on it, so that'll tickle me, lol.
We're going to have a bonfire, roast weenies and marshmallows, and other food stuff..
Of course, pop, and some alcoholic beverages. :D
(I think I'm gonna go over my budget on that one, LOL.)
People are either dressing up, or they're gonna be Halloweenie.

It should be fun, everyone thats invited are fun people, so there should be no shortage of amusement, lol.
Throughout the evening, I'm looking at around 50 people or so.

*sigh* So, after the grocery store tomorrow, I'll be offically broke.
Good thing I got my car payment made! LOL.

:)

I know what you mean. These parties will break you. With the people working in the house with us, and the guests, and a lot of curious parents our people count could be in the high seventies, or eighties even. I've got over 150 cupcakes waiting to be iced, and halloweened up. Cheesecake brownies, Spooky brownies, popcornballs, and the list goes on. No booze at this party, that's on hold till Sunday night, while the kids are out. I figure by then we'll well deserve it!

Both working that day, I'm afraid. Envious of your still having kids at home, too, btw.

Our party was last Saturday. It was the first one we had and was basically a family thing, 16 kids and 30 adults . We decorated with the usual decorations. Everyone dressed up which was great and the kids loved it, seeing the adults dressed up in all kinds of costumes.
All of the adults brought a covered dish for food, man there was a lot of food. There were games with prizes for the kids, pin the heart on the mummy( I had glow sticks and each kid who played got one), spider fishing( a plastic cauldron filled with water and the kids used a toy fishing pole with a magnet on the end and fished for plastic spider rings with paper clips attached and got to keep whatever spider they caught), pumpkin bowling( they won a 2 liter of pop for a strike or 3 trys and win anyway) and ring the witch hat (a witch hat stuffed with newspaper and paper plates with the centers cut out to ring it, they won a halloween pencil). The bowling was the most popular.

We had 2 crafts for the kids to make, a spider hat and a bat bell, also a huge hit with the kids.

The adults had a couple of games too, with prizes, and the kids rolled with laughter at watching us play. The adults played a balloon pop relay race, we divided into 2 groups, a chair was set up at the far end of each row with a bag of balloons(equal amounts), each person had to run down grab a balloon and sit on it to pop in then run back to the next person until all balloons were popped. The winning team won a candy bar. We also played an orange relay race, again divided into 2 teams and split half at one end half at the other and tuck an orange under the fist persons chin. The person with the orange had to run down to the first person in the line at the other end and transfer the orange to their chin, not using their hands, only their chin and back and forth until all people have gone. They won a cnady bar for that one too.
We had a costume contest for both adults and kids with prizes awarded( a small inexpensive item) and a pumpkin decorating contest for the kids. The kids loved this because all of the prizes were dropped into a apple-bobbing pail and they could pick what they wanted when they won a catagory.

I had each family bring a small inexpensive prize item for the kids, a small pumpkin, a bag of candy and a 2liter of pop.

The pop was used as a prize for the bowling game, the pumpkins of course were used for the decorating contest and at the end of the evening the kids Trick-or-Treated to each adult for the candy we brought. (Whoa--- they had tons of candy)

It was such a good time and big hit that everyone wants to do it again next year and most of them have already started to plan for their costumes. They have asked me to plan next years party as well since this one turned out so good.

I loved doing it and can't wait to have Halloween next year.
