I have power locks on my Van which will randomly go haywire. If I stick my key in and turn it the doors will rapidly lock and unlock until I can get in and either start the engine or hold the locks down manually. Sometimes if I try to lock the doors from the inside they will just pop back up.

The question is: Would this be a problem with the relay or the solenoid? And if so, where are they located?

I probably should have taken care of this before it got cold. :(

The soleniods are in the doors normally...

The relays are mostimes in the electrical box but if the design for the power locks was an add on to the original design, they are sometimes near the electrical box but in a seperate additional electrical box.

I would try ringing the local dealer for your make of van and asking their parts department where the box (es) are located.

Depends on the make of car and there could be many differnt reasons why they are doing that.

My car has that happen sometimes just because the switch is old and it sticks in the closes position sometimes.

Go find a forum that is dedicated to your make of car. If it is a GM automobile you can go there www.gmforums.com and ask around they are pretty good people.
