It seems like I had just finished typing the post where I talked about 32 votes, when 7 were indeed taken away! So, now I have exactly 25. So much for getting the last place prize....and I was getting so psyched!!

I have just submitted my next contribution to the Nude Day extravaganza, prompted by a remark by scouries in his review thread.

It was written in a concentrated spell of several hours, is short for an Og story at 3,500 words, and is possibly un-Og-like in material.

I will be interested to see how it fares.

It is NOT eligible to win...

Washed Away is my second stab at Nude Day. This time it is a story.

It is unlike most of my work.

The point is....just because someone is a professional writer does not mean that their works are automatically better than the "amateur" , and I don't use that word in an insulting sense. 3113 has written much better (my opinion) and some people might not have liked Ogg's story and thus disagree with me for that reason as well. We all have our tastes, the striking difference between the quality of the two stories absolutely had to be mentioned, especially if you read Ogg's second. Some people would love anything 3113 wrote just because he/she/it wrote it, more power to them. I would never subscribe to that mentality, sorry if I've offended lovers of 3113. I maintain that Ogg's story is a delight, you owe yourself to read it.

I did read Og's latest story (both of them, in fact) and I enjoyed it very much. I never said that you weren't entitled to your opinion. Don't put words in my mouth. My problem wasn't your admission of disappointment, but the method that you used to broadcast it. To me, it appeared as if you were slamming 3113's story; since you said what you did on a public forum, it's a given that many people are reading our comments. You gave your honest opinion and I respect that, but you may have inadvertantly driven potential readers away from the story mentioned and that is unfair. I simply disagreed with the tone of your comment, not the fact that you spoke up in the first place.

It IS crazy! Admittedly, I may have accidentally given you an extra 5 (I didn't take the time for PCs & lost track of where I was a few times)

I remain 'unswept', with only 34 votes (13,425 views though?) – I fear I won't have enough to qualify in the end.

If there was a sweep, it swept right past me. My score has been inching downward and is now in the 4.60's, too low to make the story a contender for first place and too high for last, but probably high enough to insure an H, especially since there are over 80 votes. Good luck to the contenders.
