But Boris and Natasha are good??

Boris and Natasha are stronger then ever! Knowing we are going to be together when the the final words are said and done makes us stronger and more together then ever before.

Natasha has even entertained being an Alaskan!!!!

I can't see how there would be another choice!

But then, I'm prejudiced.....

LOL, so am I! The reality is that I will be leaving paradise soon enough and moving to the other coast though.

You're going to miss it. Everything we take for granted living in Alaska, you will miss.

I know I am going to miss it but I did have 10+ years of living in the most gorgeous country this world has to offer. The mountains and the ocean; the wildlife outside the front door; the fishing, crabbing, and shrimping; the hiking or just sitting on the shore watching the whales play; the people The sense of safety and community, the connections we all feel as Alaskans. Knowing and helping your neighbor; knowing your kids can go outside and play all over town and you don't have to worry about them; the coming together...I will miss it and more.

I need to follow my heart and on this I am sure of my destination. DG and DG jr are my future and where my happiness resides. I cannot live in this splendor when I know that my happiness is not complete. One day we will return. In my heart of hearts, I know DG would fall in love with KTN as I have. I have known God every day I wake up and look out the window. I feel God every time I walk outside and revel in his country. I am with God every time I walk up the trail and know I am completely alone.

Thor, I am always going to be an Alaskan. Nothing can ever change that for I have lived here and I know.

Best of luck to ya!

I know that I have a hard time living where there are no mountains. Real mountains, not steep hills with trees on top of them. Here, I take them for granted. But I miss them when I'm in other places.

:)

It was about 19°F and the snow was just a little squeeky....very nice.....

today's mid-day ski was heavenly....better than that, actually.....

i'd have to describe it as "orgasmic"

i pity the people with no snow.......

I took the day off yesterday. Took my dogs for a walk along the glacier trails. It was nice, but not orgasmic :D .

I also used a new cake pan I got for my birthday. It's one of those kits that bakes a cake that can be filled. The cake turned out lovely, we each got a slice, and then it fell on the floor. I didn't have my cake pan locked right, and the bottom piece unlatched.

It was a cake I kind of made up. It had a coconut cream (with lots of toasted coconut) center, devil's food cake, whipped cream icing and then tons of toasted chopped almonds and toasted coconut. I called it an 'Almond Joy' cake.

I just happened to take pictures so I could send them to my daughter who got me the pans.

RIP yummy Almond Joy cake:

Time off is a good thing!

yesterday, the snow was 4" of fluff over the groomed track.......conditions weren't the fastest, but with exception on the noise from the poles, it was totally silent, and downhills on the trail gave the impression of floating.......and i was totally alone out there.......which was very nice......

The 'almond joy' cake sounds yummy, is a 'mounds' cake next? Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't.

It's been a good day. See ya at the Aces game this evening! I'll be the guy with the beer in his hand.

The pineapple express has blown in. It's thawing and crappy outside. Absolutely the worst type of weather to have in winter. :(

It froze up last evening. There's black ice in places. The skate lanes on the ski trails should be awesomely fast, today. I can't wait for mid-day.

Just thought I would say hi to you all the way over there, always thought Alaska looked so nice, not sure why??? Think it might be my love of snow and the great outdoors :D

The new slogan "Big Wild Life" has been chosen for Anchorage. I'm rather ambivalent about it.

Big Wild Life

Your kidding????? That is just so wrong. Anchorage is more...and at the same time so much less then 99% then Alaska.
