Alaskans? Anyone out there?

The ski trails are groomed and the days are getting longer. Can we ask for much more?

Each and every day is one day closer to open water and spring fishing :nana: The flys are tied, the reel greased up and a desire to wet a line is about to drive me nuts!!!! 3 months til the spring Steelie run and I hope I can make it

Welcome!

As long as you consider Alaska as home, then you must be an Alaskan.

I've always considered myself so. ;) Thanks for the welcome everyone, it's nice to be here.

And with the weather we've been getting the past couple weeks, I'm not quite sure I'm not in Alaska right now!

it's warmed up and that's made the roads a little slippery...

everyone needs to stay safe over the weekend.....

designate a driver, take a cab, rent a room, or otherwise be responsible....

Great post Thor!!! Health care workers see their share of tragedies each and every New year's Eve. Many towns and cities have cab companies offering free rides...if your town has that service, please use it!

The first work day of 2007. I resolved to be a kinder better person this year, at least, to myself. As far as to others? Maybe next year. LOL

Lotsa snow here and the ski trails are awesome! There are reasons to ski; because it's fun, because it's good for me, because I feel better after I ski....but one of the best reasons is lyrca ski pants on women cross country skiers. I do enjoy following the ladies up the hills. If I'm a pig, so I am, so what?

Welcome back, Jackel......

We've got more snow falling in Anchortown! WooHoo!

Anchorage is digging out from the last snow. Skiing should be awesome.

The temperature is hovering around 0°F in Anchorage this morning. It should be a pretty day once the sun comes up.

The National Weather Service says:

.SATURDAY...PARTLY CLOUDY. HIGHS 5 BELOW TO 5 ABOVE. LIGHT WINDS.

It looks like you're getting the weather we had a month or so ago. Keep warm, but go out and enjoy it!

Did you hear about the bear cub here that isn't hibernating? Strange, stuff.

I saw the bear cub on the late evening news. I do know that occasionally bears wake up and wander a bit in winter. Maybe the cub had to go pee. :)

We have plenty of snow and the xc ski trails are groomed. The skiers who only skate ski are whining because their skis don't slide very well on the very cold snow, but us other xc skiers who go both ways (skate and diagonal) will be dressing a bit warmer and having a great time on the squeaky snow.

I saw you were supposed to get some more snow.

We're headed down to Aleyska this weekend. 0 Sounds nice and warm to me. It was -32 when I headed into work this morning.

But that's up in Fairbanks-ish. It's a "dry" cold. LMAO!

It has to get below -50°F before it's "cold" in Fairbanks.

Alyeska should be good.

Another day, another dollar-two-fifty.......

It's nipply out, for Anchorage. About -5°F ish.

Alyeska was awesome this weekend. They got something like 283 inches of snow in the month of December. Needless to say, this made for some great skiing on the upper mountain. Party scene was a great time as well.

Little bit colder up here, around -32 or so.

Pretty typical all round. Lotsa snow and partying at Alyeska and about 30 below in FBX area.

I'm glad your trip down and back was a safe one.

keep warm!

About 15 below in Anchortown and 30 below in the valley.....*shrugs*......it's just Alaska......

it's warmed up to between 15 and 20 °F..........feels like tee shirt weather
