Alaskans? Anyone out there?

+18°F and no wind, some clouds because the sky is black as pitch. I'm planning on a good day.

This is my 500th post, so I thought I'd come back to this thread. Life hasn't exactly been a bowl of cherries, lately. And I haven't been the kindest person on the block. So, in the spirit of the holiday, I appologize to any I've intentionally offended, deserving or not.

I don't know when life is going to get better. I'm hoping it's sooner than later.

Happy Holidays to all Alaskans, and all those who want to be Alaskans.

Happy 500th.
I hope things get better for you Thør. If I could, I'd buy you dinner at Club Paris and we'd drink tons of good wine.

Thank you, Delicacy. I enjoy eating at Club Paris and their wine list is more than adequate for my palate. You've made me smile.

Your welcome Thor!!!! Getting a little snow down my way and hope you are in the thick of it!

Single digit temperatures (°F) and blue skies here. No new snow. It's pretty outside.

It was kind of strange last night. The clouds were very low and it was lightly snowing and the Northern Lights were out. This is the first time in over 25 years of living in Alaska, that I've ever seen the lights out on a cloudy day.

Maybe it was a greenish, pinkish, dancing UFO.

Some of the coolest aurora I've ever seen was over the Juneau area, on a cloudy night at 35,000 feet. The clouds made a white base on which the light reflected. I was spellbound for about 20 minutes.

Damn. I was hoping it was the cool UFO.

Almost wish it had crashed here this summer! What a piece of work he is.

Frank is gone and his political career in Alaska is over. Sarah is Juneau now. She is just a cute little thing!

I kind of liked Knowles. I saw him pull up to Fred Meyers once in his big, shiny, blue Cadillac. He had to big Golden Retrievers in the back seat, licking the windows and knocking his baseball cap off.

Now that's my kind of Gov. :D

Kind of like Tony also. I met his wife years ago and they really are down to earth people. I would really like to know what people expect out of our leadership these days when all they can do is follow the party line...maybe one day they will get a lick of sense and vote for the name and not the (R) after their name.

Any luck on the Airline front?

Cute, but toes the party line! Met her in August and fear we have more of Frank in fishnets to look forward to.

Still no seat assignments. We leave Tuesday morning. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the weather down in Seattle gets better.

I hate flying. It makes me sick to my stomach because of nerves.

Last time I saw Tony, in person, was skiing last spring up at Glen Alps. He's down to one dog now. He's a nice enough guy to talk to and have a beer with, but I'm happy he's not governor, again.

I hope you have a nice uneventful trip. I'll check to see what my wife takes to clam her nerves on the plane.
