I'm looking for advice on different ways to tie up my girlfriend. What knots, positions, etc.? How to do it without hurting her seriously, etc.?

She wants a 'yoga' submissive thing where she can be taken to the edge physically.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish by tying her up? Is it for restraint? Is it for sex?

-Start out slowly.
-Make sure that you do not cut off the blood flow.
-Basic knots to know: square knot, half hitch, bowline.
-When tying rope around a limb, do not use a single wrap. The more wraps you use, the more the weight is distributed.
-Always make sure that you can untie what you have tied. When all else fails, cut the rope with scissors (the EMT type) and not a knife.
-Comminucate.
-Never try anything advanced (suspensions) without being shown by someone who knows what they are doing.

I just use leather wrist and ankle restraints with D-rings that connect to the light chain you buy at the hardware store with dog-snaps; but that's because I'm lazy and I don't fetishize the bondage aspect at all, I just want to immobilize the subject quickly so I can get my rocks off.
