I've been drinking, and that will change soon.....(not the drinking, just the frame of mind)

I've been looking for a job for 4 months now. Can't find one. I didn't want to come here....was forced to leave a difficult situation, and I chose here.

Now I am questioning all the decisions that led me here.

I'm in a great place, as far as environment goes, but the lack of job is DRIVING ME CRAZY!

Ok, I'm really trying to calm down now, but I need some outside imput.

HELP!

all you can do is keep looking for a job. quit questioning yourself cuz you'll only drive yourself nuts if you keep on doing that. trust me on that one. and you will find something soon. the job market is really bad right now because we have to have a 'trickle down economy' right now and we all know how well that works

I was layed off October 2000 after 15 years of building a great career in my field. I was "unemployed" for a while - now I'm a "stay at home mom trying to reenter the job market."

I feel your pain X 4. I have leads pending, but things move VERY slowly. All I can say is to hang in there, it's not like you'll never work again.

Try to use this time to do the things you used to wish you had the time to do - paint that room, start that garden, bond with your dog, teach your kid better study habits, organize that closet, reconnect with old friends.

Pretend you're starting a new job in 2 weeks, and that you have a MILLION things you need to get done first - who knows, maybe it will be true!

good thoughts, but I've moved to a new area, it ain't my dogs, nor my cats, nor my garden, nor.....you get the pic.

Yes, there are a LOT of things I should be doing right now. Such a pity I can't get my mind on them. In a month I'll regret it.

Thanks for your imput. I needed it.

(I hate it when I need something I already know.....sucks)

ohhhhh, quit whining! :) We all need to hear what we already know from somebody we know and trust more than ourselves!

If you are in a new place, you could at LEAST get out and explore - sheesh! I've lived here for 11 years and am sick of running into people I know who ask "found a job yet?" oh yeah, that's why I'm in this restaurant dressed in shorts eating with other obvious mommies...

You WILL regret not getting off your ass, so do it while you're still "freshly unemployed." I'm already regretful and I don't even have another job yet. I'm about ready to make an appt with that guy who just wants a woman to watch him beat off. It would give me a reason to leave the house.
