After a similar incident in my own life i smiled at the woman and said, "thank you very much." I said it without a hint of sarcasm and i have to say that the look on her face was priceless. Good going.

I think the best response I have seen is when a driver flips off my husband, he blows them a kiss and wiggles his fingers at them. Flat out makes them nuts. Cannot decide if he is teasing or flirting with them.
I think it's funny.

Of course, I also find it fun to ride behind or beside another car, that has small children, make faces at them, wiggle my fingers. Get them going and then pull away. Often wonder what their parents think. Hey, the kids like it.
