What did you want to be when you were a child?

I wanted to be a ballet dancer, but 14 years of training were ruined by a growth spurt of 7 inches. Then I wanted to be a mad scientist. That I did.

What did you want to be, and did you achieve it?

If not, how far away from your dreams did you land?

I wanted to be a jockey, but a growth spurt ended that dream. So, turned to being a writer, and right now, I'm a designer of wedding invitations for a small family buisness, but I still write on the side.

Thanks LadyDarkFire. Sounds like we both grew *up*. *grin*

Damn, Zmey, you dream BIG!
:D

To quote Will Smith in Independance Day, "I have GOT to get me one of THESE!!!"

I wanted to be an author.

heh Zmey I have a friend who says if I run away and marry him he'll teach me how... I'll pass it onto you if that ever happens. :D

I got some basic knowledge ... but not much ;)

I wanted to be a rustler for midgets that live in the wild. I hear those little bastards put up a helluva fight.

I wanted to be a writer. I'm still pursuing that, but the stress may drive me into an offshoot of the business.

Depends where you're trying to rustle them, I'd imagine. ;)
Thanks HS.

I hear the stress makes most writers question their decisions. Thanks Pyper.

And? Ever get published??

I don't think it counts if you are here.. they pretty much accept everyone. ;-)

I realized that I haven't the talent for it.

I realized that I haven't the talent for it.

And I'm glad they do, cause if you needed talent to post, I'd never make it. Thanks kitty.

I wanted to be a stay-at-home mom...but having four kids squashed that dream. Now I am a work-somewhere-other-than-the-home mom and much happier. :)

Thanks Mia, and I can sympathize!

You know, I never wanted to be anything specific when I was a kid. There were lots of things I wanted to know, or be able to do. I have learned a bunch of things, done a bunch...but I'm nowhere near done. I consider a job as the way I pay for my life, and nothing else.

Jack of all trades, master of none? If it pays the bills and you're happy, wonderful. Thanks Johnny.

I wanted to be a priest.

I read somewhere that in less than 20 years, there will be no more priests due to the lack of people hearing the call to religious service. Hmmm.

I'm guessing (or I should say, hoping) due to your appearance here at Lit, you didn't follow through?

When I was way little, I wanted to be the person who washed the signs along the highway. (As you may have guessed, we traveled a lot.)

When I was little, I wanted to be an inker. That is a person who fills in the colors on comic books.

When I was a teen, I wanted to be a writer and a mother. This would involve being married to a man who worked on the slope (six weeks on, two off, big money) and allowed me to rasie the kids as I saw fit and write.

When I was with my ex we thought I'd put him thu school, then save up our money and I'd run a thrift shop and we'd have our own kids and foster kids. He'd been in foster care and thought I'd be an excellent foster mother. Firm, fair, and loving.

Being a single parent I kept my head above water holding sometimes 4 jobs at once.

Now I'm entering a new phase of life. I'm trying to get back into writing (see my survior thread as a jump start back into it) and would still like someone else to bring home the bacon while I did it. I've been working since I was 9 years old, can't I retire now and do something I'd like for once?

A Soldier..

I performed pretty much everything you can imagine, and some I can't talk about for about 12 years. Like golf, plunging fire with a machinegun is a matter of how you slice it.
After that, life is pretty much a coasting thing.
