When I first saw the trailer for this months ago I knew it would be a cold day in hell before I actually paid money to see Emenim acting.

Well, now the verdict is in and the critics are pretty much unanimous: It's terrific! I still can't believe it but I'm actually thinking about going to see it.

Who woulda thunk it?

Eminem is saturated with drama. I'd be more suprised if it flopped.

I had no doubts that it would be a hit. But a fine piece of cinema as well? Maybe this is one more sign of the apocalypse.

Even if he sucks, I'd watch Kim Basinger.
She's a good actress.

I've wanted to see it since I first heard about it. Unfortunately I didnt make it to the movies today, but I plan to go soon. So far I've only heard excellent reviews.

Yup, it is a good movie...If I were you I'd go early because tickets are selling fast.

I went to the very first showing at my movie theater and it was almost packed...and that rarely happens on the first showing.

8 Mile is pretty much a parody of Eminem's life (or so I heard) It should be a very good movie

He said it's loosely based on him...so only a couple things are true about his life in the movie.

i saw it today. it's a good movie. i was impressed.

*edited b/c i see the person above me said basically the same thing so i'll add a little more....the story was good, the acting was good.

I saw this movie at the first showing opening day and I enjoyed it very much. I certainly recommend it to everyone here at Lit. :D

So I finally got around to seeing this movie and guess what? I liked it! Yeah, yeah, the acting and story were good but that's not really what impressed me. What I liked was the fact that it was the first film in a long time to offer an honest, non-stereotypical portrait of Hip Hop and it's culture. None of the gang-banging, drugs or any other negative stuff generally associated with the genre. Kind of refreshing.

Also, it brought back a lot of memories. I've attended and participated in more M.C. battles than I care to remember and this film got all the details right. Pretty impressive!

I had a choice between 8 Mile and Femme Fatale...saw Femme Fatale instead. It wasn't bad at all, but maybe I should have seen 8 Mile. I was never an Eminem fan, but he's starting to grow on me...

Instead of posting yet another thread about this movie.

I decided to dig up this one. :)

My Freaky went to see it Friday night with his children, and then him and I took my kids Saturday night.

I liked it. And will definitly be buying it when it comes out on DVD.

Anyone else go to see it this weekend?

THE realism..a guy from DETROIT
8 mile.
the invisible border....get it

I thought the storyline was a bit cliched. It was a reprise of every underdog overcomes the odds and makes good movie I ever saw. It was like the Rap Rocky.
But having said that, it was actually pretty good. Eminem did a decent job with his role.
I would say it was worth seeing.
