🧘🏼‍♂️🤾🏻‍♀️Getting Sweaty Again: The 3rd Circuit 🚴🏼‍♂️🏋🏼‍♀️

good morning all. 5:45 and off we go 🏃

Update: My run was excellent in the cooler foggy morning here. The followup lifting was just ok.

I find it really helps to have a good audiobook to listen to while I run. It helps pass the time and keeps my mind actively engage.

I posted this in a thread I started on AMPics, but I’ve let the thread go.

Not looking for sympathy, thought some back ground might be good.

12 months ago I was sent to the ER. No pains, only severe shortage of breath.

I had severe blockage in 2 of the 3 heart arteries. Zero family history of heart problems, total shock

Had 5 stents put in.

Lost 25 lbs of mostly water weight in a few days. Had fluid drained off my lungs.

Luckily I did not have a heart attack.

I always ate reasonably healthy, but I’ve totally changed my diet.

Did 4 months of cardiac recovery at the hospital. It all went well.

I’ve continued working out on my own, and continue to do well.

Had my 1 year checkup earlier this week. All good

Hope never to stop working out.

Today I did 15 minutes of stretching- I need that for the IT bands.

5 minutes of exercises to help take care of the problem that causes the IT band issue.

20 minutes on the upright elliptical. Heart rate and blood pressure were very good.

Onward and upward. 😎

That's a great accomplishment! You should be proud of yourself for sticking with it!
I am! I more happy about helping my mom from 235 lbs (107 kgs) to 165 (75 kgs). We began at the same time since she was in my complete care without interruptions from my siblings, at first.

I’m also trying to improve my health. That was my motivation. I walk up a long walkway and 3 flights of stairs to get to my home. I usually would be out of breath, ready to pass out. I’m still out of breath, but recovery doesn’t take as long.

Good morning everyone! Of course I have negative thoughts. One only has to take a glance at the news to feed them. However, my dad always taught me to look for the good and be mindful of all that I have to be grateful for. I come here to this thread and see you waking up to live another day, working hard to be better than the one before, then supporting and cheering each other on as we make progress. I admire you all so much for that! Happy Monday and enjoy the week ahead. Love and hugs for all!🥰🥰🥰🤗🤗🤗
That's a really good bit of advice, especially for a Monday LOL. I hope everybody has a wonderful day!!!

This is probably more critical than we realize. It is easy and natural for us to find faults and issues in life or work more easily than notice the good and best parts.

I once realized I began hating a job I once loved. I took a step back and realized I had begun complaining and fixating on the negative l. I also realized a few specific coworkers were poisoning the atmosphere.

I spent time meditating on the aspects of the job I loved and why I was so excited to work there. I changed how I spoke to about the negative and distanced myself some from those who complained the whole shift.

It literally changed my world and outlook. Work was so much more enjoyable and I stayed for another year before entering my career.

It’s ok to see and process the negative but don’t become over fixated on it because it will become a poison.

Exercise your minds. I guess get a sweaty brain 🤔

Thanks for the reminder Brianna.

I had a similar experience in both my work and personal life and it changed everything. I'm glad you were able to make such positive changes!
I’m glad you also benefited from a similar situation! Congrats on the growth.

I thought I’d take a day from running and go for a walk. It turned into a light run. Glad I chose to at least go for a walk. Take opportunities this week!

Many years ago, I felt this way about life in general. I let all the negatives overwhelm me to the point where I was so severly depressed, I attempted suicide. It's no small miracle that I'm here today to talk about it, but I'm very happy that I am. I wouldn't wish my experiences on anyone, but I also have no regrets. Everything we go through, both good and bad, makes us the people we are right now. You also make an excellent point that we need to exercise our minds. IMHO, everything starts with a healthy mindset.
Thank you for sharing Brie ❤️ 🤗❤️

Busy weekend taking care of the 2 youngest.

Soccer. Movie. Friends birthday party.

Flag football. Whew

Glad their parents are back in town

I’ll be sweating later today.
