🧘🏼‍♂️🤾🏻‍♀️Getting Sweaty Again: The 3rd Circuit 🚴🏼‍♂️🏋🏼‍♀️

I bit the bullet and went to see my primary care doctor about the pain in my thigh. Based on my reactions to her poking and prodding, she’s confident that it’s an IT band issue. She ordered rads of my right femur and hip. There was nothing seen on rads that would account for the pain. So, she recommended ibuprofen, specific stretching and strengthening exercises, and foam roller torture. She encouraged PT, but I am going to try it on my own first.

Ugh the foam roller :-/. I’m sorry to hear all this. I really hope your leg feels better soon. The foam roller sucks but it does really work in my experience.

Sending you a hug 💜

Early morning run. It was pretty chilly and the fog was coming up off the water. The run was solid but the post run lifting wasn’t that great. My Kim’s just for sluggish.

I might have to try for a second workout before dinner to see if that feels better. Normally at this point my muscles would feel more tight but today they feel like noodles 🏃🤷‍♂️

I need to do something this week but between feeling shitty both physically and mentally it's really difficult to get much done.

I can definitely relate. When I get like that I try to go for a walk. It’s not high a intensity workout but I get fresh air, some sun on my face and get my body moving.

Even if it’s a quick 15min stroll on a break it helps my mood and feeling of being in my body.

I have found that the treadmill in the gym at my office building is really saving my life. Work and personal life has been super stressful so I make myself get up, hit the treadmill walking to 10 minutes and am instantly in a better mood. Sometimes I have to Dom myself to make me go do it LOL

And I’m up. 5:45 morning run time. All is quiet except the morning birds they’re trilling away. 🏃

Update: went great! Better than yesterday and pushed my long stretch noticeably further. Gains muhuhahah

I’ve had IT band issues on and off for about 5 years. Not fun.

With 6 months of PT 5 years ago, it was down to almost zero. Gradually came back and I started PT again 2 months ago. Progress is slow.

She’s doing dry needling now. Interesting
