I am a beer fan who has overcome the prejudice against cans. Most craft breweries use cans probably because of the lighter weight than glass and the product is light years ahead of the swill older generations drank. In some ways beer is more complicated to get into than wine.
 
I could use a Manhattan. Rough few days. Work has been nuts and I lost a chunk of tooth and the dentist says I need a crown. My wife is watching an interesting movie but I don’t have the attention to fully follow, maybe I’ll stream it tomorrow.

Well -
  • I was thwarted in getting my car tags updated because the whole Dept was closed for IT update this weekend. Had I known that I would not have driven into town.
  • Since my Win10 was updated to Win11 I have lost all access to my MS office suite. That pissed me off and I've been trying to figure out what the best path is. Today I decided I would go ahead with a 30 day trail. However looks like I can't get Publisher in any of the current suites even tho the chat bot says otw. I was referred to sales. They are not in office until Monday. Thwarted!!
  • I did a complicated work around to be able to update and edit a Word document. It took way longer than it should.
  • I needed to scan a bunch of images to attach to a work proposal. Decided this would be the day to figure out how to scan on my new combo printer. It seems it should be able to do that wirelessly to the computer it is already connected to (printing works fine). Couldn't make that work. Next option... use a cord. How can it be that I have 3 dozen cords, but I don't currently own the right one? Ordered. Will arrive on Monday. Result for the day: thwarted.
  • Took pictures of the documents instead. Edited the proposal in my email. Took for ever. Got the images attached and proposal sent. Time spent today: 6 hours. I had alotted no more than 2. Result: success but at quite a cost.
Thus... extra shot Paloma tonight.

That is a boring af post. Sorry.

We have a way of thinking our own things are boring, don’t we? Especially on the days that are wonkier than that guy in the Chocolate Factory. I wonder why that is?
