It has occured to me that there are many different types of PM conversations here. Some are good...some are bad...some are just plain frustrating.

If you could devise an official set of guidelines for people to know when PMing you, what would it be?

What things annoy you most?

I'll start and add on as I go, unless the thread flops and then I will let it die a natural death. It's the compassionate thing to do.


First off.. PLEASE don't PM me and say something like "Nice tits, wanna fuck?" or "Hey, my Yahoo/Msn name is such and such. IM me and we'll cam". Do not PM me a pic of your cock unsolicited. I'm not impressed.



Anything else to add?
 
Random "Hi, how are you?" PMs aren't a favorite of mine.

Mostly its the "Do you want to cyber?" PMs that are the most annoying.
 
They're different for guys and girls.

For guys PMing women out of the blue, I'd offer this bit of advice.

If a woman has a sexy avatar or sexy pics posted somewhere, the chances are good that she's already been complimented on it/them. Therefore, saying some sort of version of you're hot and little else is hardly likely to get you noticed. Creativity helps, as does showing a bit of interest in the person behind the tits/pics/avatar.

I have had good luck replying to a thread first to get a "feel" for the person. Then, usually, will ask publically if it is OK, then PM them.

Interrogational PMs from people I don't know...

"How old are you?
Where are you from?
Whats your name?
What do you do?" etc. etc.

All at once feels way too creepy.

You pretty much covered it, except I'd add "Go ahead send me a picture of your pussy unsolicited, I will be impressed."

Oh, kindof off-topic...but I get quite a few people who message me on Yahoo rather than PMing me. And to that I have to say; Buzzing me is not cool. I'm not talking to you because I'm either busy, or you're stupid and I don't want to talk to you.
 
PM Preference

My PM preference is that of the polite response or introduction if you will. Vulgar bursts of lust just don't do it for me. A man or woman for that matter needs to tickle my mind before I'll allow anything else to be tickled or... Well you get the idea. PM me be polite and perhaps...
 
Another pet peeve.

Trading a few PM's randomly is one thing, but when you're in the midst of an established PM conversation with someone where you're PMing every few minutes and they just suddenly stop replying and leave you sitting there, it's annoying.

You have the perogative to leave a PM conversation at any time for any reason, but have the courtesy to at least tell the other person that you're leaving.

Anything that sounds like it's more than a friendly chat or reply to an existing thread. Anyone that PM's me with something suggestive will just get ignored as, if they looked at my profile, they'd notice my bf mentioned on it. I'm one of those annoying monogomous people that doesn't even like to play online. I'm here to express the sexual side of myself in discussion and picking up ideas, not to pick up men.

Oh...and people asking for pics...if I wanted to post them, I would've done so just don't ask, you WILL be ignored. Why do some people assume that by posting on a porn forum you're up for whoring yourself over the internet???

Smart boy. You obviously paid attention in class. I have PMd someone only twice without their permission and on both occasions i was unable to control my self. Something sparked and I lost my mind. Sometimes all it takes is a word.

I've only initiated a PM once, and even then only to wish them luck with the topic of their thread.
