WordAt best, some are okay.
At worst, I shall die of starvation.

I'm sucking nothing. That is fucking delicious … you all can suck it if you don’t agree.
To my mother? I told you, stop bugging my mother!Word
Well, that is mildly disappointing.I'm sucking nothing.
And that is why I live in the Midwest even though I absolutely adore the PNW. I have a very good job, a nice house, and my entire mortgage is just under 20% of my current salary (it was a much higher percentage a decade ago.) But I was very intentional about picking a neighborhood that is in a blue collar suburb with lower taxes. And I bought in 2015 when the housing market wasn’t great, the interest rate was low, and I shopped mortgage deals until I found a great one without PMI. If I had bought earlier/later, in another suburb near me, or hadn’t shopped around for mortgages, I would have doubled my cost. And that was almost a decade ago.I think in reality… if I paid the full amount of my rent …. It’s only 30% …. But I have a good job.
I know people making minimum wage and rent is like 50% of their income. Most people not making at least double or triple the minimum wage are working 2+ jobs to survive
I don’t plan on selling unless I move to another state or something similar. I love owning a house and remodeling to suit my interests and preferences. It’s part hobby and part mental health exercise. For me seeing a space transform and looking at light, color, patterns, textures, and art that I enjoy makes a big difference in my mental health and general wellbeing. I wasn’t able to do that when I rented.Rent is cheap, but buying a place is fucking expensive. Though I can't see a reason to ever buy a place if you don't plan on flipping
Nope!Starting to wonder if I’ve shown it at some point when I was drunk and everybody’s seen it
ok ok … yeah …
How many of you have MULTIPLE thread PM’s with me?
So. Much. Gross.Hmm... nope. None of them were cheese-related.
I got angry reactions when I told someone I shouldn't make them a taco because I'm very white, but I'd happily make them a bologna on Wonder bread sandwich with mayonnaise. And when I talked about my love for peanut butter and sweet gherkin sandwiches. Nothing to do with cheese.
Ooooh, this is a helpful insight. I need to try dill relish now!Y’know…I went most of my life thinking I hated relish because sweet relish was so ubiquitous and apparently all I’d ever tasted. Then about 6 years ago I tried DILL relish and it was a revelation![]()
So. Much. Gross.

Exactly! My mortgage, with insurance and taxes is 12% of my income. But that's because timing worked out. I could not afford my house if I had to buy it today. And isn't it amazing what the school district will do to the perceived value of a house?!And that is why I live in the Midwest even though I absolutely adore the PNW. That is a hell of a lot of things adding up exactly right, many beyond a person’s control. So for most people I think buying is just not feasible.

What about buggering your mother? To my mother? I told you, stop bugging my mother!
This is where the divorce kicks me hard. I was trying to be reasonable and give my daughter more stability, so my ex kept the house and we are waiting for the kid to graduate college before we sell. But I am in an apartment for the two of us (I moved about 5 miles away so my daughter can move back and forth between the two places), which drains a lot of my income without building any equity. Hopefully, when we sell, I can get into a more reasonable accommodation. And that is why I live in the Midwest even though I absolutely adore the PNW. I’ve got maps all over the walls here, cheaper than real artDone all - still do some.
My house has many real maps with 2 on the walls.
I still send postcards - usually to my brother to tell him to bring lard to the orgy etc.
I have a very special encyclopedia that I won on a TV quiz show called blockbusters.
That feels like it would be available at Utah CostcosWho has a Costco account and go buy one of those apocalypse dinner kits and let me know how they are?
Are you guys quoting gross income or net income? Because my income is only 55% of my incomeExactly! My mortgage, with insurance and taxes is 12% of my income. But that's because timing worked out. Whoops, I meant this to say "what's this about buggering". That came off far more aggressive then intended.
I take back everything positive I said about you.Whoops, I meant this to say "what's this about buggering". That came off far more aggressive then intended.![]()
