Sex & Shenanigans

Yeah, but that is exactly what a gargoyle is supposed to do. We use the term for every ugly statue on an old French building, but gargoyle, which comes from French gargouille translated as "throat" or "gullet" (also where we get 'gargle,' also originally from Latin, as all French is) is a water spout, meant to take water away from the building.

Non-water spigot ones are called grotesques. I have a couple on my deck. Yes, I said DECK, you pervs.

This has been your useless fact of the day, from Unquiet Dreams: Your Font of Useless Information.
I'm sure this has been commented on before.... but in the 1% chance it hasn't.... why is this image now in my head?

I did, but that was way before I ever read Ellison! Might have to give that another shot...
It was subtle, but MJS went to him for advice, (my favorite was "stop writing shit.") and he was young and smart enough to take it. He was listed as "Conceptual Consultant," more as a sounding board. But you can see his fingerprints.

Going to get a bit masturbatory again, and, since I'm trying to overcome my fear of talking on here...

This brought one of my favorite book openings to mind. From Harlan Ellisons Deathbird Stories, short stories about all the modern gods of our society, and how life would be different should we worship them today, as we do the gods of old.

It's a wonderful collection of cosmic horror and madness. I tried to add a little bit of despair to this. Hope that shines through 🫣

And also, if this isn't just a gorgeous book cover...

I have one complaint...

...too short! 🥰

Honestly, I want more. Can we work out a deal? I give you boob shots for sound bites?
