One of these days I'll find something that I know that You don't! Mark my words..
Oh, you know plenty I don't, and have shared a lot of new things for me, which I love. Love new stuff.

But Ellison was a beautiful, cranky, irascible old bastard who touched so much of science fiction without being a household name. I am a huge fan of The New Wave in science fiction. Everyone was playing with everything then, text, perceptions, characters, all of it was a playground. He and Roger Zelazny were friends and worked together, and Zelazny is my no-questions-asked favorite author.

Ever watch Babylon 5? He was a huge influence on that, and I think his voice ended up on the show as well.

since I didn’t want to hijack other peoples threads … I figured I should create my own thread where any random antics can go wild.

there is no one discussion theme… other than whatever you want to discuss.

let the thread flow it’s own chaotic way …

food discussions? YES!
sex discussions? DEFINITELY!
general fun back and forth? BRING IT!!

Let chaos ensue!
i bet I would like your titties and your Jeep

I was kind of trying to find a nice way to say "no woman is ever, and I mean ever going to hear (or read) a statement like that and suddenly want to bear your children. That statement is practically woman repellent". So I'm sitting here and pondering how to word that without coming off too harsh.. and there it is. CCG solves the problem in a very succinct, efficient manner. Three letters and punctuation.

Genius.

I’m concerned about my Amazon “personalized for you” list.
Yeah, but that is exactly what a gargoyle is supposed to do. We use the term for every ugly statue on an old French building, but gargoyle, which comes from French gargouille translated as "throat" or "gullet" (also where we get 'gargle,' also originally from Latin, as all French is) is a water spout, meant to take water away from the building.

Non-water spigot ones are called grotesques. I have a couple on my deck. Yes, I said DECK, you pervs.

This has been your useless fact of the day, from Unquiet Dreams: Your Font of Useless Information.
