The older cops will generally know who does good work as well. Yeah, yeah, I know your thoughts on that but rural cops are going to make it a point to find out about you, it's their job, you might as well find out about them too.

Yeah, that, too. The tough part always is to find one who has some sense and isn't all impressed by his tin star and funny-looking work attire.

We did get to meet the townies fall before last when we went for a burger. We heard a kitten yowl, so the landlady went on a mission. Living in a drain pipe was a maybe 10 week old orange cat-to-be. She tried to catch it and one of the cops helped. "Helped." The kitten ran right past him and into another drain. So Wat said something sarcastic and alluded that the kitten could pass the cop exam if it only spoke Engrish.

You'll meet them at the local range. They'll be mid-aged and out at the range practicing because they know they don't already know it all. ;)

I had no idea that you were black.
Ya learn sumfin new everyday.

I bought a Ruger Mini-30 for raffle yesterday. I don't see the point... but its what was requested. The Henrys have kind of run their course for a while and nobody here want's the long range calibers.

Hell, from what you've posted over time everyone there has a Henry by now.

More or less than the twat who had to make a new name to troll for gay cock?

It seems that lots of Deplorables lead double lives. I just heard about a "power couple" in Florida who had high positions in that state's Republican Party. In their GOP life, they actively promoted their Governor's rabid anti-gay agenda, but in their other secret life they were enjoying a bisexual threesome.

Here on Lit, Kioti has his macho right-wing personna for demeaning liberals and glorifying the power of guns, while his alter-ego TrailerHitch was out trying to hook up with another guy's trailer. Sensing this duplicity, no one offered to hook up with the eagerly-awaiting Hitch. So now we all understand where the alt moniker "TrailerHitch" came from.

Multiple alts are the stock and trade of Deplorables. They're deeply conflicted about their sexuality in the context of their right-wing intolerance and judgmentalism.

I asked the landlady to inquire about ranges in the area. Her follow-up question was very much on point, so next time she's in the next county thataway, she said she'd inquire.

Yet another pathetic attempt. Here's some advice for you, grow up, I admitted I was here to explore my bi-curiosity so how does bringing it up hurt me?

Yawn....More blather.

You are such a cowardly twat that you had to create a new name to explore yourself.

Your bi-curiosity obviously hurts you more than I ever could.

Actually TrailerHitch was the identity for that so initially Kioti3510 was created to be able to post without enlightened liberal assholes like you being a homophobe and posting about my bi-curiosity when you had nothing intelligent to refute my post with. Through a mistake on my part while posting it became clear to all you homophobic detectives that Kioti3510 and TrailerHitch were the same person. When discovered I admitted that too. So what are you accomplishing bringing this up over and over? I admitted I am bi-curious looking for my first experience and I admitted that both identities are me, so yay for you for repeatedly pointing out the obvious.

By the way, my bi-curiosity doesn't hurt me at all but it sure seems to bother you.

Think 'muzzle brake'. ;)
That too. They work quite well. If you do a lot of range shooting they can be practical, even a necessity for some, but hey, if you're only going to fire one or two rounds a year in the field wearing cold-weather clothing it might not justify the added cost of doing so. Just my opinion.

Liar!

I think that would come down to the game and the range. At what distance do you want your minimum ft-lbs delivered. And both have been eclipsed in that realm by rounds like the Nosler family and a few others. Both are fantastic rounds, no doubt. And 300 has served the military very well.
Personally, I think the 7mm Mag using 160 or 175 grain bullets is more than enough to drop anything legal to hunt in the lower 48. That said, the .30s are fine rounds and I've owned several including the .300 Win mag. I respect the preferences of others and do not pass judgment on choices of hunting calibers. The only thing I care about, aside from inherent accuracy, is how much energy my bullet will retain when it arrives at its point-blank range which for my 7mm mag 175gr bullet is 360 yards, 390 yards for the 160 grain bullet, both arriving at those respective distances with from 2400 to 2500 ft lbs of retained energy.

I was thinking about that whole zero deal recently since I now have two new uppers to sight in. So I can fiddle with this arrangement when I get time to, which will likely as not be in Spring.
It all depends on what you're going to use those rifles for. Ranged target shooting, hunting, or CQB.

No, probably not, unless it's a long fucking way away. I'm generally not all that averse to recoil anyway. I think of it as a rather large shove.

For anything out to 500-600 yards, the littler stuff should do what's around where i am. My last shot was at 200 yards. Fucker went down and stayed down.
If you really want to go long range take a look at the .30-338 or the .308 Norma magnum. You'll want at least a 26" barrel. A friend of mine shoots a 1000-yard match in Montana with a .30-338 and has won with it. Oh, you'll need a muzzle brake with that one.;)

Yeah, I haven't figured that one out yet. Odds are great that the .300WM becomes the Long Range Rifle, and that also means that it will do a lot more sitting than shooting. So it's probably an either/or thing right now, but worthy of some consideration.

Mostly? Punching holes in paper, or if we add some steel, then banging a gong.

I need to measure the front leg of the new dirt and see if I can make a 300 yard berm and target there. I think that I can.

So in the grand scheme of things where does the 7.62x39 round fit in? I have an AK variant (semi-auto of course) and a bolt gun for that same round. In the bolt gun it seems fairly accurate. I've never pushed it over a couple hundred feet since that was the longest area I had to shoot in.

No wasting shots on long range shooting for me. AK47 to a hundred yards out and then as the distance closes, buckshot. THAT is why I like the deep woods. Around here a shot over fifty yds. is a treat unless you are looking down the road.

Liberals ain't the ones passing don't-say-gay laws.

It's a medium range, medium power cartridge that used to be cheap to buy in bulk as were the platforms it was in.

There are still a lot of lever guns out there doing lever gun things and popping out .30-30WCH slugs and killing deer out in the woods. I respect that. It works, it ain't broke, and it don't need fixin'.

The 7.62x39 is an odd duck. For utility's sake, I think of it as being kinda similar to the 5.56 NATO out to maybe 200 yards. The 5.56 has some ass out past 300 yards, but by 400 yards, the 7.62 is in the dirt. So if you don't have too far to shoot, kinda like the old thirty-thirty, it'll get the job done for many of the same reasons. Wat has an AK and an SKS in the rack. Neither is used much, but neither is going anywhere, either. I do prefer the AR to the AK platform.

From my house Out West, I sincerely doubt that I have a clear line of sight for a 400 yard shot in any direction.

Relevance to you constant homophobic posts to me. Fucking hypocrite...First to call others out on their Bull Shit, also first to ignore your own hate filled, biased, prejudiced Bull Shit towards me. It's absolutely hilarious how much space I own in your feeble little liberal brain. I can't ever post with out you and the rest of your yappy dog posse pouncing on me.

Admit it...I own you bunch of wimps. Party on...I can ignore you too because you have become boring, repetitive, and even more ridiculous with every post you make to me.
