๐ŸŽต Monthly Song Challenge ๐ŸŽต

Just an aside: my dad used to play this when I was very little. We would go camping in the mountains as our vacation, just me, my dad and my three brothers, for two weeks every summer. We would drive his great big green and white ford pickup back in the mountains and hike into the middle of nowhere. I alternately loved and hated those trips. This was always a song that he played on the way. So when I hear it, I can hear my dad singing it. ๐Ÿฅฐ
One of my favorite songs, straight up. Just amazing.

Everybody has lots of great selections. Lots of Dylan, which I dig. This one I always liked and loved it's use in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2.

Angelica! You have incredible taste. Iโ€™m always on the lookout for your shares. Both fabulous songs. Royals is somewhat of a theme song for me and Into the Mystic it just such a beautiful one. Crushed it again ๐Ÿ’›
Awww. ๐Ÿฅฐ Thank you so much. I've enjoyed your shares as well. And the thread is so much fun. ๐Ÿฉท

Day 17: A song youโ€™d choose for karaoke
Eurythmics - Missionary Man

Day 18: A song that tells a story
You beat me to it. ๐Ÿคฉ

Steve Earle - The Galway Girl

Well, I took a stroll on the old long walk
Of a day -I-ay-I-ay
I met a little girl and we stopped to talk
Of a fine soft day -I-ay
And I ask you, friend, what's a fella to do
'Cause her hair was black and her eyes were blue
And I knew right then I'd be takin' a whirl
'Round the Salthill Prom with a Galway girl

We were halfway there when the rain came down
Of a day -I-ay-I-ay
And she asked me up to her flat downtown
Of a fine soft day -I-ay
And I ask you, friend, what's a fella to do
'Cause her hair was black and her eyes were blue
So I took her hand and I gave her a twirl
And I lost my heart to a Galway girl

When I woke up I was all alone
With a broken heart and a ticket home
And I ask you now, tell me what would you do
If her hair was black and her eyes were blue
I've traveled around I've been all over this world
Boys, I ain't never seen nothin' like a Galway girl

I had to include a second video option. The lyrics are harder to understand here, but there's such joy in everyone's faces that it always makes me smile to watch it.

Welcome to the revolution! ๐Ÿ˜

A song that tells a story

I thought about going with"Rime of the Ancient Mariner" but that one was a bit obvious.

Fans of "The Walking Dead" show will recognize the opening.

Iron Maiden "Where the Wild Wind Blows"
Rime of the Ancient Mariner is a perfect choice.....
