❌Monthly Song Challenge: Archived🎵

Angelica! You have incredible taste. I’m always on the lookout for your shares. Both fabulous songs. Royals is somewhat of a theme song for me and Into the Mystic it just such a beautiful one. Crushed it again 💛
Awww. 🥰 Thank you so much. I've enjoyed your shares as well. And the thread is so much fun. 🩷

Day 17: A song you’d choose for karaoke
Eurythmics - Missionary Man

Day 18: A song that tells a story
You beat me to it. 🤩

Steve Earle - The Galway Girl

Well, I took a stroll on the old long walk
Of a day -I-ay-I-ay
I met a little girl and we stopped to talk
Of a fine soft day -I-ay
And I ask you, friend, what's a fella to do
'Cause her hair was black and her eyes were blue
And I knew right then I'd be takin' a whirl
'Round the Salthill Prom with a Galway girl

We were halfway there when the rain came down
Of a day -I-ay-I-ay
And she asked me up to her flat downtown
Of a fine soft day -I-ay
And I ask you, friend, what's a fella to do
'Cause her hair was black and her eyes were blue
So I took her hand and I gave her a twirl
And I lost my heart to a Galway girl

When I woke up I was all alone
With a broken heart and a ticket home
And I ask you now, tell me what would you do
If her hair was black and her eyes were blue
I've traveled around I've been all over this world
Boys, I ain't never seen nothin' like a Galway girl

I had to include a second video option. The lyrics are harder to understand here, but there's such joy in everyone's faces that it always makes me smile to watch it.

Welcome to the revolution! 😁

A song that tells a story

I thought about going with"Rime of the Ancient Mariner" but that one was a bit obvious.

Fans of "The Walking Dead" show will recognize the opening.

Iron Maiden "Where the Wild Wind Blows"
Rime of the Ancient Mariner is a perfect choice.....

Yeah I knew what song I wanted straight away too which makes a change. I usually spend an hour or two pondering the right one.
I love Nick. He can go from ultra violence to the most tender and beautiful music and it's all so thoughtful and clever

What a perfect description of what makes Nick Cave so amazing! Very well said.
I 'originally' found him through my devotion to the incredible PJ Harvey... but I have been a Nick fan ever since. Great song choice!

A Whole New World - Aladdin & Jasmine
Yup...it's true, I'm a Disney dork and IDGAF who knows it 😜

17) a song you'd choose for karaoke:
You Were Meant For Me - Jewel
No backing track, still getting over that cold and may be incubating COVID-19, please be nice LOL

18) a song that tells a story
Tribute - Tenacious D

Every one of your song choices was inspired, and seeing them all laid out back-to-back was fantastic.
But I especially enjoyed your own musical contribution! (I really liked that one... damn.) So cool. Thank you!
