He was using civilians as a shield. And civilians died because of it. If he were in hiding, he may have been killed without civilians being at risk.

A comment was made by a strategic Mideast analyst earlier today which made sense in the broader scheme of things. Being an absolute ally to Israel through thick and thin would most likely convince some moderate Arab states that the US is a good partner to have in their corner. SA to counter Iran for example. No love lost between SA and Iran. Destroy Hamas, keep Hezbollah at bay to the north and I believe Turkey and Egypt remain neutral especially if Hamas is destroyed and Hezbollah is neutralized . The wild card is Putin and Syria. The other wild card is the formation of a Palestinian government minus Hamas and a vibrant global initiative attempt to rebuild the Gaza Strip.

Erdogan is a thug. The Muslim Brotherhood is no friend of ours. Turkey should have been expelled when they agreed to take on Russian weapons systems. Erdogan is threatening retaliation towards Israel. If that happens nothing good can come from that. I don’t believe our leadership will have an answer.
