Do your readers write Alternate endings in the comments

I don't know what to say about that thing. It's oddly not erotic, I think. Too many disembodied, ah, organs. Not that I have any experience with it, but it looks like something Robert Crumb would invent during one of the acid trips he admitted to having.

I write a lot of loving wife stories. I admit I like the category and even enjoy the BTB crowd that gets so irate. What I find the funniest is people who try to write alternate endings to my stories. Sometimes at least 5 paragraphs. I mean, they take a lot of effort.

Does this happen to others or just me.

I write Loving Wives stories, too. They're mostly first person from the swinger husband POV.

Some of the comments I get try to predict the future, such as divorce, wife cheating on him, or the ass fucking the husband should expect from the wife's strap-on in the future.

Does that count?

Yes, Bosch for sure, although he was a bit less whimsical. I got the feeling that he had a good time painting things like "The Garden of Earthly Delights." He probably thought, "As long as I put in some religious stuff, I can get away with anything and it's all good with the Church." In one of his self-portraits, he looks like something of a "naughty scoundrel."

Now that I think of it, in one of my stories I have the main female character looking at his paintings in an art book.

You mean he just went ahead and published your story with his own ending? (A new title too, I guess.) Or did he rewrite the whole thing? Did he have anything else in his submissions list? Usually they don't.

He wrote his version of the ending. His author note is long and explains the story. Who says I can't be inspirational?

I will say, I feel like a little bit of a hypocrite. Part of the reason I got back into writing was because one particular story here, "February Sucks" by GeorgeAnderson, drove me absolutely fucking nuts. I just had to write a continuation to make some kind of sense of the original ending to the story. But I wasn't alone in that; it's the story with the most alternate endings, rewrites, sequels, etc. of any story on here. And for good reason.

Hi Em, I'm somewhat new here. Is there a reason you're staying away from the LW category?

There are a lot of reasons to: the comments section can be very vicious for a lot of different reasons (misogyny, conservatism-- both social and sexual-- numerous clashing factions, etc.); the ratings are lower by typically half to a full point for similar reasons; and the things that do well there tend to not have much actual sex in them, for many of the same reasons as listed about the comments. There are a lot of good things there, too (it probably has the most consistently good literary criticism on the site), but it can be absolutely bruising, especially if you're not writing straight male revenge/power fantasies.
