Pretty much the truth. Once outside the major metropolitan centers the nation is virtually third world. In all honesty, it was already kind of ruined. He thought a little glory would gloss it over.
Say hello to the new boss, same as the old boss. That's the old truism about the Soviets – third-world nation with a first-world military (on paper).
for that to happen, wouldn't it require a regime change? The world economy will always benefit from sound trade between as many nations as possible... markets generally enjoy stability though there will always be those who profit from instability.A big problem here is not only whether Ukraine can prevail...but the West has no plan to handle them prevailing.
And for that matter, there is no real plan for the west to change their stance on Russia once this war concludes, regardless of outcome.
We are basically positioned to just return to "business as usual" with Russia.
It would require a shift in strategy that the West seems to be ignoring. No matter how this turns out, the west is not doing anything currently to adjust. The new Russia will require new.thinking...even if Putin sticks aroundfor that to happen, wouldn't it require a regime change? an article i was reading a few days ago spoke to how China is now basically waiting for the russian system to collapse to then step in and assume control of huge swathes of russian land (north and east) with all its resources. Chinese expansionism is active and if it can benefit from industries/resources located beyond its borders, it'd not be an unexpected move. It does, however, depend on if the russian economy totally collapses. Perhaps a 'return to normal' is not such a bad thing in that light. I honestly don't know nearly enough about it to offer anything insightful, but the article had me thinking and thinking's never a bad thing.
how do we know they are ignoring it, though, and stuff isn't already under discussion/being planned for/undertaken out of the public's eye?It would require a shift in strategy that the West seems to be ignoring. Nothing is changing from a diplomatic standpoint...seems pretty clearhow do we know they are ignoring it, though, and stuff isn't already under discussion/being planned for/undertaken out of the public's eye?
are these the kind of policy changes and proposals that are announced here?

India, China, now Turkey...Turkey has issued a huge warning to Russia after President Recep Tayyip Erdogan ordered Vladimir Putin to return all "occupied" land - including Crimea.
i guess we have to wait and see what happens, but when even erdogan bails? who has putin left? Belarus? i don't know how much this is related the russia's grain (needed to be exported by russia, bought by other countries), but with erdogan edging things as an arbiter towards peace it must all play into the mix."This is what is expected. This is what is wanted. Mr Putin has taken certain steps. We have taken certain steps. The lands which were invaded will be returned to Ukraine."
you ignorance of the seating protocols is absoluteHilarious that Biden had to sit behind all those Black people,
at the Queen's funeral.
Typical British bull.
Rape and thieve countries,

grow upsorry, I actually picked on you randomly, because I was pissed off with spacekowboy and oggbashan.
I find it ludicrous that members of two Empires with a similar past to Russia's
give the World lessons in morality.
Nobody agrees with Putin's war crimes and forced russification
But don't whitewash the human rights abuse committed by Ukraine against it's own minorities, either.
It's not about people for these colonial-minded turds
it's about their countries remaining no.1
Moments after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced plans for a "partial mobilization" as part of the war in Ukraine, flights to nearby countries began to sell out.
Flights to Istanbul, Turkey, and Yerevan, Armenia, were sold out quickly after the speech, according to Lenta, a Russian newspaper.

Flights to Baku, Azerbaijan, Almaty, Kazakhstan, and Tbilisi, Georgia, are also selling out or going for four to five times the normal price, according to Google Flights. Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Georgia are also countries Russians may enter without a visa.
Russia state media said Putin will make a speech at the Kremlin to mark the staged annexations, which are illegal under international law and call to mind Russia's annexation of Ukraine's Crimea region in 2014. Preparations were being made Thursday for the ceremony, with Red Square in Moscow being sealed off and a stage being erected.
Won't matter...Russia can never hold them. Every soldier they send to keep order will be sent back in a coffinIn another dick move, Russia will annex four Ukrainian territories after bullshit vote. Putin to attend (might be a good opportunity for him to have an unfortunate accident)

not necessarily: Zelenskyy has been putting out broadcasts in Russian telling the russians forced to the fight how to surrender to Ukraine forces for their own safety, where they'll be treated humanely.Won't matter...Russia can never hold them.
