The official Authors' Hangout Summer Lovin' 2022 Contest Support Thread

I was thinking the same thing. How long do you have to sit out between prior placements?

Not sure. One or two?

It's not that important to me. I like to place in these, but much more than that? I enjoy writing to a theme.

Whee!

And my next SF story just went in. We'll see how long that takes to get out of Pending as it dodges the contest entries.:nana:

Good luck, all!

lol its interesting how ratings are so different between categories. Like had a hot streak in two categories and now in NC/reluc for this contest its like rough off the bat. No pun intended :p perhaps since on the contest page it doesnt show category so folks read it without knowing its NC (ignoring my authors notes which clearly state it).

This is interesting. My story, Summer Storm, is published, and was held until today, so I assume it was recognized as a Summer Lovin' entry, but I don't see it included in the listing of stories for the contest. That said, it is getting pretty good numbers as far as page views...
Any idea what's up?

Did you include the words "Summer Lovin 2022" in the notes section when you submitted the story?

Well, my story is up and doing well, between the inevitable one-bombs, of course.

Many thanks to Laurel for the swift approval time. I only submitted it Thursday morning and it was queued to go live within about 4 hours. I know contest entries get priority but that was the fastest approval time ever. Maybe I've been around long enough and have enough stories for Laurel to trust I won't drop underage scenes into my stories?

Yes, we're off. Having votes on "Carolina Connections" in my sr71plt account already is interesting, because, at twelve pages, it couldn't have been fully read yet. The were, of course, down votes.

It made the "New" listing under the contest section, but I don't see it on the separate contest list. If it doesn't appear there in the next day or two, it would be good to PM Laurel and ask her about it.

Congrats to all who'd published. I'm looking forward to reading some of them after mine is complete. I'm far enough along on it now that I can laugh at my earlier total words estimate but not anywhere close to actually being finished.

After having one approved about that fast recently instead of taking several days like some of my earlier stories, I suspect that may make a difference. I second the thanks to Laurel.

Yes (in tags too, though that doesn’t matter). I submitted it well in advance of the contest, and they held publication until today, so it is apparently included. Just not on the list. I’m confused because it is getting a TON of views for the first day for my stories. Where is that traffic from?
Maybe I’m building a following…

Finally got it in, it was one of those stories that just didn't want to end. Hopefully I can just get something published, I've got three stories pending now.

Like I posted earlier, it was in the contest portion of today's "New" list.

Are comments delayed for contest entries? Typically after for being posted for about half a day I get a few comments on my stories, Ive yet to have one this go around.
